slvemike4u -> The Tea Party and their chosen candidates....America's saviors? (10/15/2010 10:04:02 AM)

A look at the quality of cadidates backed by the Tea Party draws a disturbing picture of ideological extremism taken so far that all other considerations for fitness are ignored.
Let's look at some of the standard bearers that the Tea Party hopes to foist on America(courtesy of the New York Times...I know,I know a "liberal rag" but all the same here it is)
Christine O'Donnell(Del. Senate)....amongst other things (and what I consider most trivial) needed to begin a tv ad denouncing she was a witch...in my view her issues with the truth in her own personal history and her financial issues were much more troubling.
Tom Ganley (Ohio 13) is accused of sexual assault and attempted rape by a woman who wanted to volunteer for his campaign.
Jeff Perry (Mass 10)As a police sargeant in the 1990's he was a supervisor at the scene where an officer placed his hand in 14 year old girls underwear saying he was looking for drugs. He was reported to have accompanied the same officer to the home of a 16 year old girl to tell her parents that she had voluntarily pulled down her pants to show she was not hiding drugs.
Rich Lott (Ohio 9) dressed up as a Nazi re-enactor on weekends for years.
Jim Renacci(Ohio 16) Was assessed nearly 1,4 million(yes million) in unpaid state taxes after trying to shelter 1.4 million in income.
Dan Benishek (Mich 1) A judge found in 1995 that he had failed to report $100,000 in income in an attempt to try to reduce his child support payments
(would cheat his children....but we should trust him)
Scott DesJarias (Tenn 4)His former wife accused him of physical intimidation, pulling the trigger of an empty gun outside her door, and threatening behavior including "shoving, tripping, pushing down, etc.

Now this was just a partial list of the most eggregious of Tea Party candidates....is this how the Republican Party seeks to reclaim leadership again?.Did they not learn anything when they sold their souls to the religious right?.....Why would they once again trivialize their party by embracing such candidates?
A two party system functions best when both parties are viable....how can the Republican Party be viewed as viable when they allow themselves to be co-opted by the likes of these candidates?

If the aforementioned tea party candidates win in November, what does it say about the democrats they threw out of office ?

“My friends now joke that something about Kenya, maybe the strange diet, or the tropical sun, changed my personality; Africa to them seems a catalytic converter that takes in clean-shaven, clear-thinking Americans and sends back bearded Marxists,” Coons wrote, noting that at one time he had been a “proud founding member of the Amherst College Republicans.”

Who wants a bearded Marxist or a clean shaven Marxist running anything in this country?  You liberals do because you are predominantly Marxist in your political thinking, which is why having a president accused of rape is entirely acceptable.  It makes Geitner being a tax cheat entirely reasonable...the same with Rangle and a dozen other frauds and cheats.  And that's fine.  The response is that if Jack the Ripper was a conservative who gave a well founded impression that he would adhere to such conservative precepts as upholding the second amendment, state's rights, lower taxes, an end to entitlement spending, courting industry to return to America and secure borders, a great many people would vote for him.

So you guys rally behind your pieces of shit that promote your communist-liberty-destroying-agenda and we get behind our pieces of shit that promote our conservative agenda and that's about the extent of it.  But to actually posit that liberal democrats are angels instead of the lying, power hungry scum we all know them to be is ridiculous.

Know your enemy.  Liberals lie.  Liberals deceive.  Liberals fight against liberty and against prosperity.  Do NO business with a liberal.  Don't rent to them, don't trade with them, don't refer clients to them...nothing.  Economic warfare is the only civilized strategy.

When did he posit that? It looked more like a suggestion that they're unlikely to dig out anybody as bad as the teabaggian candidates...

Mike, i read through your list, and many are pretty damning. How many are political accusations as opposed to actually proven incidents?

Well lets look at the list...O'Donnel has found it necessary to actually declare her un-witchiness(and this I would accept...lol)but there are scads of other issues with her that paint her as totally unacceptable(trouble with the truth to start with....fringe beliefs where public policy is concerned).Beishek and Renacci have court finding validating those charges.
Perry's police record is a matter of public record(and I am willing to assume the Times did their due dilligence in writing the piece). The Lott story has been validated six ways from sunday(what wieght one puts on his troubling peccidilo for dressing up as a Nazi is up to each individual....for myself I would find it highly disturbing).
That leaves Dejarias....and Ganly...the former could just be a case of a highly contentious divorce(these things can get awful ugly..with counter charges flying back and forth) and I would assume that the Ganley thing must in due course work it's way thru the legal system.
The point of my post was that in their narrow minded zeal for candidates with the purity of purpose demanded by the Tea Party....warning bells and questionable histories have been ignored in the choosing of these people...that once again the Republican party sells its soul on the alter of expediancy much as they did and to a great extant still do for the religious right.
For myself I long for the day when we once again have two viable choices in this country...but for that to happen the republicans must stop bending over for the fringe elements within their ranks.

I think it says that whoever votes for them is pretty fucking stupid.

Let's break this down Servant.

If any one of those candidates were Democrats you and other conservatives would be screaming about their lack of values.

Excuse me, WHAT?????????????

I must have misread.

Explain that one to me again.

Let's talk about the cocksuckers in the Minneapolis Airport Bathroom that we Minnesotans had to pay for all the bruhaha surrounding it, and the fact that no republicans stepped up to plate to pay for that. They are a gay bunch overall, constantly getting caught with a dick in their mouths, or paying for their boys with campaign money.  thing is,  democrats do not have a lock on misbehavior.  Nixon was a criminal.  Reagan gave away military intelligence to Iran in arms for hostages, so he was a traitor.

mnottertail -> RE: The Tea Party and their chosen candidates....America's saviors? (10/15/2010 12:44:34 PM)

so your opinion is yours, and of course you advocate traitorous endeavors.

fucking loser, nixon was protecting nobody, least of all johnson.  he wasnt the sort to do favors for anyone he wasn't the red cross.

ooooo....you are out of your depth.  Define socialism and define fascism.  Try to do better than Wikepedia.  Tell me the name of a country that has fascism as a political platform.  Do you understand what I'm asking?  Define ONE country that has fascism as the political theory under which its government operates.

Socialism is where the government owns the means of production.

Fascism, as an economic system, is one where a totalitarian government directs the means of production but those factories generally remained in private hands. Mussolini called it a 3rd way seperate from both capitalism and socialism.

The reason terms like "National socialism" get used, dear boy, is because people fear that fascism won't be a vote winner. It's not something that tends to get plugged.
Still, as far as fascist governments go, how about Zaire, Burma, Turkey, Syria, Iran and North Korea? Racist autocracies with unelected governments tick most of the boxes, you'll find. I've heard claims made for Venezuala as well, but as those were made by Americans, they probably didn't have any more of a clue what they were talking about than you do.

lockedaway -> RE: The Tea Party and their chosen candidates....America's saviors? (10/15/2010 1:08:14 PM)

Read "Liberal Fascism" (an excellent work) by Johan Goldberg.  The "fascism" posited by Benito was really just plain old socialism.  On paper, it worked the same way.  Whether the government actually owns the business so that all General Motors Employees are government workers or that the coporation is so overseen by the government that their independent existence is a fiction is a distinction without a difference.

Knottedhead, go read a book.  Nixon had no dog in the fight over the Pentagon Papers.

No kidding?  Then why did his administration fight so hard against their publication?

Pentagon Papers

The release of those papers was politically embarrassing, not only to the incumbent Nixon Administration, but also to the previous Johnson and Kennedy administrations.

Nixon's attorney general John Mitchell almost immediately issued a telegram to the
Times, ordering it to halt publication.

The paper refused, then the government brought suit against them. Although the
Times eventually won the case before the Supreme Court, an appellate court ordered that the paper temporarily halt further publication. That was the first attempt in American history by the federal government to restrain the publication of a newspaper.
