Just how many times a month can the same tired topic be discussed?
...

Reading old threads does not give you 30 new replies that this post got. While people are replying there is an interest in the topic. Just saying.

P.S. don't take it as a personal attack, it isn't one.

Nope, I don't take it as a personal attack.  No worries.  I just know that FOUR different threads were started on this in the last 6 weeks or so, and there was an additional one that was started prior to 1 September that was still active.  So we have 5 threads in 8 weeks on the same subject.  If you consider that means a new thread on it about every 2 weeks or so, and if you are on here for just one year, that's about 25 threads on the same subject.

How much can be said?  That is why threads degenerate into "yawn" / silly types of things.  Did you notice that a good number of the posts are not actually about the OP?  It's people being silly or making jokes, etc.  I counted.  A full 21 of the posts (prior to this one... now 22) of them are not in fact about the OP.  They are people being silly.  Clearly half the posts.  I considered my previous post actually addressing the OP.  Clearly there is *NOT* much interest in this topic but rather there is interest in bantering.

And by the way, the very FIRST response was someone suggesting the same thing I suggested.  I don't think there is a thing wrong with telling people about the "search" feature.  It was in fact a great thing to learn about when someone pointed it out to me.  To quote someone else...

Alright, you got a point there; I agree. However, the other side of it has to be considered as well.

For some reason people didn't jump into some other threads to start this silly banter, and for some reason "Anal 101" made them want to add a useless comment in this thread. A Freudian thing perhaps? Or perhaps they want everyone else to know that they read this thread? Who knows!? But they are here still posting anyways.

Another thing I'd like to point out is, that, I personally, don't like to respond to OP in old threads spanning several pages even if I like the subject and have something to add. Old threads are usually already derailed so much with off-topic silliness that posting there on-topic seems kind of weird.

thatsub, I'm aware you posted this in reply to sunshinemiss, however, as someone who also suggested the OP use the search feature, I'd like to respond to what is quoted above.

My reason for suggesting the OP do a search for related threads was mainly because the question/s posed were of a , in my opinion, very basic nature and not something that hasn't been discussed numerous times. This wasn't in the hope that the OP would then post on the older threads, but more that the information sought could be found by a simple search.

Grated, the OP did also ask for "anything else you'd like to volunteer" which is why I acknowledged that there would be others who would offer "whatnot".

The search feature is one of the wonderful tools available on CollarChat and one that, in my opinion, is a often ignored source of information for those new to the forums.

A search feature is indeed one of very useful tools on any forum. No argument there. I am also not defending specifically this topic (or the way it is worded) or its OP. I am merely defending the fact that sometime discussion of old topics in a new thread can be helpful and productive.

Agreed, with one personal exception...that being the practice of doing a thorough search prior to posting a fairly basic question. Of course, I speak only for myself in this regard as i'm a bit of a research freak and am fully aware that not everyone shares my "fetish". [;)]

edited for spelling

That Bfrom A... so anal retentive and such.

I actually agree with you, ts as far as exhuming old threads.  However, it's the fact that current threads were ignored that I found bothersome.  On the other hand, I'm sure people are bothered by this current derailment as well (although how can it be a derailment when clearly half the prior posts were in their own rights derailing?)...

So a recap.... lube lube lube... use a condom if you don't want a bit of mess. (And may I add... remember to expect a certain amount of air expression from the bottom's bottom for a time after...

Talk to Aynne if you need some advice on fiber issues.  That cover it so to speak?

Anal can be fun. One reason I keep a package of disinfecting wipes in the nightstand.
