balletmaster2002 -> A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 6:40:19 AM)

Hello all, I am a new member here at collarme, but a well-seasoned Master. I was recommended this site after several years as a paid member at alt.com, but due to what can only be described as an infestation of fakes and game players I closed my membership there. So far I have chatted with a couple of submissive girls who are most definitely on the level. Sadly though there also seems to be an abundance of charlatan subs here. Is there a 'be wary' board of those who's words should be taken with a pinch of salt? I am sure some may think this idea unethical, but surely not as unethical and deceitful as the fakes themselves..
The board could be called the Comedy of Errors..
I would be interested in member's views on this?

DarkSteven -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 6:44:07 AM)

There have been numerous threads on this subject, but all ways to specifically mention members by name as being fakes, violate the TOS.

poise -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 6:49:42 AM)

I wouldn't be interested in particpating in a thread that was all about negativity, and I would
like to think that the majority of the posters here, when confronted with the same type of member
that you are coming across, would just as soon block, delete and move on.

sexyred1 -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 6:54:30 AM)

Wow, not only are you well seasoned, you must be really smart. I am positive this idea has not been suggested, oh, say a million times already.

I guess it is difficult to comprehend that one person's "charlatan or fake" sub may just not be into YOU and that they are perfectly legitimate subs looking for someone else that they are into.

I guess it is also difficult to comprehend that a creating a board "outing" those YOU feel are not real would be highly unethical and purely subjective.

Just like with Doms, one woman's trash is another woman's Prince.

balletmaster2002 -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 6:56:15 AM)

Hi steven, I do understand its a bit of a mine field, and no one wishes to bad mouth other members per-se, and I am sure there are those who get offers turned down would relish making false claims against those who turn their advances down, but the whole fake scenario is what ruined alt.com, which had of course always had its fair share of fakes and liars but this problem really has gotten out of hand there now, hence my closing my account with them. As I said I have spoken with a couple of Very honest and Very genuine slaves, and a plethora of those who's words and claims really do show them to be fakes. I am merely voicing an idea and interested in what others think on this situation.

balletmaster2002 -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:07:33 AM)

On the contrary sexyred, I do not suggest some OUTING board, but a way of perhaps the site policing itself. Do you not accept there is a difference between the genuine Fake and someone who just isn't interested? Because I most certainly do. But that is not what I am referring to. I am referring to the types who within a few short mails are offering the world on a plate, their, slavery, their salary etc. in a ridiculous display of fakery. Surely no genuine submissive or slave would dream of making such outlandish and ill-conceived offers to a total stranger? Or perhaps you disagree?

angelikaJ -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:11:45 AM)

So, pointing out the obvious, what is to prevent anyone you meet, who doesn't fancy you, from listing you as a fake?

I wrote out my experience with fakes on here:
http://www.collarchat.com/m_2774994/mpage_1/key_Fakes%252Crant/tm.htm#2774994

Best wishes in your search...

and in case you missed in, in your Dom Handbook, chapter 3, it does state that real Masters don't whine... if you do, don't be surprised if some evening, when there is a knock on your door and someone demands you turn over your Master card. [;)]

edit: finding homes for poor, lost commas

balletmaster2002 -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:22:47 AM)

I agree with you AngelikaJ and this is why it would be such an awkward dilemma. But I had noticed certain members having "THIS MEMBER IS A FAKE" printed at the top of their profile. I doubt very much this had not been added by the member itself, so I presumed it had been put on by site managers. It's not a case of whining but this site does seem to be pretty genuine all in all, and it would be a real shame to see it become what alt seems to have become, a retreat for Ghanian/Nigerian fraudsters

CreativeDominant -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:23:12 AM)

I'd be willing to venture that I am not the only dominant here who has had more than one submissive in the years since I got involved in this.  Within the endings of those dynamics, the word fake did not come up once...not on my side nor on the submissive's.  The reason?  They were not fakes nor was I.  Our time together had come to an end for varied reasons as told by me in other threads.

While I will agree that there are several folks I've met about whom I wonder...I try, even in the extreme cases, to give the benefit of the doubt to them because there is always this statement somewhere in my brain:  "He/she may not fit your definition of dominant/submissive but they might fit someone's".  That does not mean that I won't call someone on what I see as non-dominant or non-submissive behavior...I will...but even there, that is MY opinion.  Someone else might see their behavior less harshly than I do or more harshly.  It depends on our perspective.

balletmaster2002, I most certainly disagree. Why? Because I am mystified why a man of your age has not realized yet that other people do not necessarily have the same experiences that you do and that other people do not need the protection from fakery that you seem to need.

Whenever anyone comes to the boards or posts in their personal profiles that everyone is a fake, scammer, not real, not a true sub, not genuine, I and many others just roll our eyes.

I have said before and others as well, if you bother to read the myriad of topics devoted to this topic, that all encounters with other humans are subjective and open to personal interpretation. I am a real sub, and yet whenever I say not interested to someone, I am accused of being a fake, not real, a bitch, etc. So I could be blacklisted on your suggestion and that would be patently untrue.

I fail to see why you need a FREE website to police itself. The Mods do a great job of moderating the boards for TOS violations, but the only policing done on the personals side is if there is a photo or something written that violates TOS.

And people who are scamming you and asking for money is one of those things. But there is no way to prevent you or anyone else from encountering outlandish or ill conceived offers from anyone.

How about this idea? How about YOU police yourself and not respond to those offers or requests? Perhaps when some sub offers you the world on a plate in the first few emails, you stop fantasizing about it and become more discerning at bullshit detection?

One can only hope this works for you moving forward, or else you will have a dismal time here as well.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:28:51 AM)

What Sexyred said. I get bizarre offers every week. It's the nature of the internet. Delete and move on.

mnottertail -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:30:55 AM)

I can't help but think you have some simple cognizance disability.

on the report a profile button, one of the reasons given to report is for that very thing (here we all call it blacklisting).  Seems to me if they run across such an account they will delete it, why would they type this user is a fake and go thru all that shit, when we have heard many a story that they do just that, remove TOS abusers?

However; in all fairness, I tried to block and report myself once, but Moderator11 told me to knock it the fuck off, so........

LadyRian -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:32:02 AM)

The anonymity of the internet allows many, many people to be "fakes" in every area of life. There's nothing that can be done about it, short of discovering it the old fashioned way; Interacting with them, and realising that they're just BS-ing, or that they aren't. That's the only way to tell, really.

balletmaster2002 -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:32:40 AM)

Allow me to give an example which took place only a matter of an hour ago.
I received a very polite mail from a girl in the USA, I replied, and she then asked to talk on yahoo messenger. I took her address there and sent a YM, in her second sentence she told me she was expecting an inheritance of some US$120000 and had traveled to Malaysia to collect it and wished to give it to me if I became her Master! I told her she'd be better off keeping it, her reply was 'could I lend her US $2000 to pay her hotel bill as she waits for the lawyers to finalize her payment.
I don't think I am being overly judgmental when I call this member a fake.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:35:31 AM)

The internet is rife with scammers. Use the report feature to report the scammer.

She told me it was you, and that the situation was the other way round.

See where the first problem is?

BurntKitty -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 7:47:38 AM)

I was accused of being a fake yesterday and told i wasn't a "tw00" submissive.  I informed a 22 year old "master"  I wasn't looking for a quick hookup for a beat & fuck, but a full relationship with a dominant person.  This was the exact reason that I left alt: too many used it as an AFF with kink.

As was stated already- block, delete & move on.

mnottertail -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 8:03:48 AM)

I'm getting the vibe you're gonna need the slow beat and fuck, then?

BurntKitty -> RE: A comedy or errors (10/20/2010 8:05:02 AM)

From you,  "yes, Sir.  May i have another?"

So, already this morning you were provided with a bit of free entertainment.

You figured it out early on and really had no time invested.

Report the profile and spend your energy looking at the oodles of women who aren't scammers.
It really is that simple.

Also, you might want to thank your creator for blessing you with the intelligence for spotting them.

If there weren't people who didn't by into it, they wouldn't exist.
