Actually, someone mentioned how fantasies can become awful when you put them in real life (acting out or imagined)...

Something along those lines. Anyway, I think that perhaps the high number of f---tards who label themselves as submissives on here but turn out to be total idiots in real life (making me want to beat the bulls--t out of them, but then that wouldn't be consensual since they really don't like pain or submission and I could go to jail) are people who got a boner from watching Cat Woman or that one minute of Mr. & Mrs. Smith were Angelina Jolie is a pro-domme. They might go home and figure that it's something they want to try and they are total subs. When faced with the reality of it, it quickly becomes ugly and undesirable. And they suddenly don't like it when you order them to do something they don't want to, especially outside of D/s play. Or even if they do, they do it grudgingly. That b.s. drives me crazy and makes me want to find a sub over the age of 50 because the older ones are often far less inhibited and probably KNOW that they like this stuff.

I agree with this. Having only read to this point in the thread, I may be repeating here, but the subconscious mind can also exaggerate. While the dreams might be extreme, they are probably based on something very small. It may very well be that the extent of the sadism isn't the basis, but you may just be craving more play in your life.
