So I am assuming we all are adults on this forum, so what is with all the typo's I see when looking at someone's profile? I know 8 yr old kids who can use spell check effectively why can't the men and women on this site do the same? It is very embarrassing to me to see I did not spell a simple word correctly. If you as a dominant think I would turn my life over to you when you find yourself unable or unwilling to spell properly then think again. Yes I know that spelling is difficult in the English language all that I before E and such, but in this day and age it is just plain lazy not to utilize spell check it is a free program!

If you base all your relationships based upon someone's ability to not make typos, you are definitely limiting your potential poll of possibilities... its a shame really. im more into how he makes me feel, can he make me wet with just a look, can he make me tremble with his voice, can he pay his bills... you know, things like that.

There are reasons that people do not spell correctly. I don't feel people misspell on purpose. I also like to give people the benefit of the doubt that they may not realize how shallow something they say sounds. Live and let live......preferences are fine but some things can borderline on mean spirited. Just my humble opinion.

Every time I see someone rant about spelling or grammar, I see all sorts of errors in his/her own rant.

The OP has not ended that trend.

Profiles -- knowing that people are going to make decisions on based on what you write and how you write it, it would seem only logical that people would want to put their best foot forward.
If it's a brand new profile, I can accept and overlook a few typos, especially if the essay part is long. But over the next couple of weeks, I would expect to profile's owner to read over his profile, just to view his words with a fresh "eye". Certainly he would catch most errors then.

Personally, I have to wonder how safe I would be in the hands of a Dominant who is sloppy and careless though. I appreciate a Dominant who values His correctness; One who wants to be careful in ALL things.

Typos in emails or in chat, are simply mistakes, most of the time. "Fat fingers"... quick banter, getting caught up in the moment -- no big deal.

And typos are just accidental mistakes. But chronic misspelling, awkward phraseology, absolutely NO punctuation -- things like that -- in my case, are probably strong indicators that W/we are not going to be intellectually or educationally compatible.

That's just my opinion, and it's fine that others will disagree.

Best response I've seen to grammar pedants, courtesy of Stephen Fry:

And this is acceptable grammar?

I simply am too lost in the clouds to type properly. I need at least three editors to make my scribbles presentable. Or a meticulous submissive who strives for grammatical and linguistic perfection, so I can tell her how wrong she is—of course.

What was the question again? Oh, right, I'm human, I make mistakes. Actually, I make many, many mistakes, so I must be very human, indeed.

Feel free to fly your freak flag! Why, thank you. I shall fly it into the subsurface of the moon.

We all know where this is going, so I'll try to make it fun!

So, I am assuming we all are adults on this forum, so what is with all the typo's I see when looking at someone's profile?
-The new "double 'so' clause": very trendy for going in circles, while distracting your audience. And here I was concerned you were looking at no one's profile.

Assuming we are all adults on this forum, what is with all the typos I see when looking at profiles?
We are all adults on this forum, so what is with all the typos I see when looking at profiles?

I know 8 yr old kids who can use spell check effectively why can't the men and women on this site do the same?
-Of course you know, I never once doubted it! Your stealthy combination of two sentences almost fooled me.

8-year-old kids can use spell check effectively; why can't the men and women on this site do the same?

It is very embarrassing to me to see I did not spell a simple word correctly.
-Spelling is only so impressive. Stylistic proficiency is even sexier. If you can use two sets of em dashes in a paragraph, just take me now.

Misspelling a simple word leaves me well embarrassed.

If you as a dominant think I would turn my life over to you when you find yourself unable or unwilling to spell properly then think again.
-Ah, the shy comma. Wait, me? Actually, I was thinking of my own satisfaction. Gratuitous exclamation point added, since you're passionate about the issue at hand!

If you, as a dominant, think I would turn my life over to you, when you find yourself unable or unwilling to spell properly, then think again!

Yes I know that spelling is difficult in the English language all that I before E and such, but in this day and age it is just plain lazy not to utilize spell check it is a free program!
-I've always wanted a comma check. As is, I'm merely guessing.

Yes, I know spelling is difficult in the English language (all that I before E and such), but in this day and age, it is just plain lazy not to utilize spell check; it is a free program!

-You know what? Fuck it. I'm just restyling that sentence.

Yes, I know English spelling is difficult: I before E, among other things. But not using spell check—a free program—is just plain laziness!

Aww, come on!!  The OP's kitten avatar is cute.  No, wait.  It's a Lolcat Grammar Nazi screaming about the OP's profile:

I am looking for like minded friends only I am very owned and very happy do not contact me if you are looking for a submissive of your own, as that would not be tolerated well by either myself or my Dom.

Vanna, can she buy some punctuation?

You beat me to it. I started to read the OP's profile and the way the first part is written makes no sense at all. I didn't bother with the rest.

Well son of a bitch! Is this why I'm still single and no man has bowed to me? Hell, I thought it was my Jerry Springer/Gretchen Wilson thing.

Guess I will be single forever because I don't feel like taking night classes and I kind of like being the gutter mouthed domina that can't spell.

If I have a typo or two it's because often i'm typing with the wrong method, not using home keys and I type as fast as I can so my thoughts go to the keys.

When it is important I slow down, think, contemplate, check and recheck so I don't look like a fool <_<

This made my morning, and rather quickly too I might add. Two sips of coffee and a giggle. Thank you!

of course, I taught him everything he knows.
