Don't tread on me? What a joke. The law was bought and paid for by big business. In this case big Prison business. They want the US Gov't to swing big dollars their way with illegal immigrants. I thought republicans were for smaller gov't. Business doesn't need the gov't does it? Is it all a sham? Where are the baggers?

Thanks for posting this DYB. It reminds me of the story earlier in the year, where the judge was sending kids to a detention centre he had links with. Talk about making a profit from misery, so much for the land of the free.

This sounds like a private company to me. I see nothing wrong with it.

DYB, Obama is the one who claims that enforcing our immigration laws is the business (solely) of the federal govt. so you'd have to ask him.
What does this have to do with the baggers? One would think they'd be against this.
Surely Obama is aware of those contracts with private prison companies, there's no way he can't be.
And if the feds were doing their job in the first place those private prison companies wouldn't be neccessary would they?

What's wrong is that it is a private company.

We have turned incarcerating people into a business and the goal of any business is to increase their clientele.

World Prison Population List

The United States has the highest prison population rate in the world, some 686 per 100000 of the national population....

It is funny that the people who voted for AZ immigration law now get to pay for housing, food, and medical care of illegal immigrants.

Exactly pops, but I don't see anyone filling this thread with outrage.

And, yes, that is exactly what would happen if the Fed did its job and arrested anyone coming across the border and detained them in the US. In fact, it is happening already. Talk about a complete waste of money.......

Yes, but they are treated as a non profit. They do not have to show who gets paid, how they get paid.

Are you the most ill-informed man in America?
Are these posts some sort of attempt to claim such a tittle?
Is there anything any of us can do to help fill in these massive gaps in knowledge you seem to suffer from?

No, but you can donate a shirt.

I'm sure everyone would be grateful.

Someone expresses and opinion and makes it clear it is an opinion and he attacks them    How about a t-shrit and laptop for everyone?

Oh yeah   http://www.azcentral.com/12news/news/articles/2010/10/29/20101029arizona-immigration-law-three-months-later.html

Seems there have been few if any arrests made (not everyone had responded to the query).   LOL

Really wasn't the point. I suppose you are fine with the way the legislation was crafted?

Oh yeah   they are called PAC's, lobbyists, consultants or whatever.   Don't know of any level of government that doesn't have them in some form.

R0,  this crowd doesnt care.

Silver did well today.

OP-  the other day I nearly went off.  A neighbor put his car up on blocks.
I do not want his car on blocks-  good that he did not dump oil out -   that car on blocks make a neighborhood seem like a junk yard.   Happily we do not have 3 am parties and every day a party- I think 6 live there. --the ALWAYS have company.   But they seem ok-  nothing like the last people who were total trash- 10 living there.
