Let me check...yes, it says on my drivers license I'm a guy. You'd think these girls could check their own license, realize they were not asked and pretend they have manners and go post on "ask a mistress" or "ask a sub" or "ask a rude person".

You may want to educate yourself about the rules of this forum. Regardless of who the question was directed to, all forum members are welcome to post. Hence it is not rude for them to answer as it has been, over and over, stated by those who run this forum that anyone can answer anywhere.

Now, you many consider it rude despite the fact that this is how things are run here. So I add - at the risk of being rude myself - you will find that in many cases those who are well-versed in manners advise not publicly taking people to task but gently correcting them privately. Manners are meant to avoid embarrassing and insulting people.

The two cents of a woman who has seen too many questions answered most effectively by those the OP wasn't targeting - even if she doesn't dig the chasing thing.

Greetings,

Of course it is true you have the right to post in "Ask a master" to a question that only a man can answer.

But this is true also:

Having the right does not make it right.

What man would have to check his drivers license to verify whether he were man or not? [:-]
And is this before he thinks about kissing a girl, or after

Bureaucratic mistakes can and do happen! [:D]

I would like to post something ridiculously off-topic here, in a way that is calculated to get multiple women to respond to me, because I am a cyber drama whore.

Um, A lot of questions are gender neutral, like the OP, Both men and women can answer competently. I know you cant wrap your Brain around the concept women can be intelligent and respond in kind, but thats your damage, drivers license checking and all.

Also If your born male and become female or vice versa  your Drivers license still says your birth sex except in a few states.

Would that be like ignoring manners by attempting to publicly embarrass and insult those on behalf of a poster who repeatedly thanked everyone for their replies?

If it's a question that only a man can answer is subject to opinion. In this case, as a woman who has to deal with men quite regularly, I think you are quite incorrect. Hopefully we can disagree politely as civilized humans.

You believe the OP's question in "ask a master" and started with "more of an ask a guy thing" is gender neutral? Let me ask you this: What do you think of the guidelines for this thread?

Here they are quoted from ModeratorTwo's posting:

This section is open to those wishing to ask questions of a Master, in the hope of receiving answers from that particular perspective.

Experienced Masters are also encouraged to share their advice and knowledge regardless of if a question has been asked to prompt response. If you know the topic to be something that is often on the minds of newer people, or a subject you have found in your experience to be beneficial to address, feel free to take the initiative and open the discussion yourself.

So, as an "Experienced Master" I am sharing my advice and knowledge here on the thread specifically setup for me and others like me to do so. What are you doing?

Be well,
Arturas

AquaticSub -> RE: more of an "ask a guy" thing... (10/31/2010 10:41:55 PM)

The mods also state, in addition to welcoming people to post on any forum section many times over the years

quote:

Please refrain from posting inflammatory or accusatory remarks about individual users, specific groups of people, or types of fetishes.

I would say that suggesting that people are unfamiliar with their own gender would fall into that, particularly when one could politely ignore it, ask people privately why they made their choice or simply state "I do not understand why women are posting on this" without cracking insults.

Posting on a Thread With experience as the submissive half to an Ms Relationship.

You see the reason they have specific sections is to ask for information from those who have experience, Gorean Lifestyle for those who have read and live the gorean life, Poly for those who live and have experience in such a dynamic. Ask a Master, a Mistress a Sub or slave or Switch for those with experience in those kinds of relationships. While, it does say Ask a Master, It doesnt say ask only a male master, and it doesnt say only male masters can reply, Its more of a Which of the following best fits If you are a female in an Ms Relationship ask a Master is the best place to put it NOT because they want MALE masters but because they are asking for opinions about hte master HALF of the Ms dynamic.

Men Can be Masters Women can be Masters... Men can be Mistresses ( yes Ive seen it..) Women can be Mistresses.
Men can be subs or slaves Women can be subs or slaves.

While YOU can only Fathom Male Masters... Ive met several Female Masters who have earned their Leathers who well Have much more wisdom and intelligence then you.

As have I. I miss Master Fire. She was amazing and to this day is one of the few doms/masters where I can not fathom not using the title Master in front of her name. I do hope to see her posting here again.

Oh dear, must be a bad day in Gor; no good drama so someone feels that it needs to be stirred up elsewhere.

Meanwhile, OP, good luck on the guy thing; having *ahem* known my fair share of them, I can state with 90% certainty that if you ask 100 guys, you will get 100 different answers and none of them will be what the guy you like is thinking.

In your position, I'd make sure my breath was sweet, and I'd go for the "lingering eye contact" thing. Always seems to work for me.

*ETA: I usually try to casually drop my veil first too. Once the mouth is uncovered, he'd better go for it!

DMFParadox -> RE: more of an "ask a guy" thing... (10/31/2010 11:52:58 PM)

I think I can make a swing at getting this back on topic:

My Buddy The Bridge Troll.

I know a man forced to live under a bridge. He's in a gaming group an old co-worker of mine is running.

He had a career and people who cared about him.

But he made a pass at the wrong woman and was convicted of assault and a sexual offender charge. Went to jail for a while.

Since he's a sexual offender, he's not eligible for post-correctional housing. He can't get a job. He can't get a home.

Some of you will try to find reasons why he deserved this. It's not the point. Plenty of men in his situation deserve some kind of censure, but the pendulum of justice has swung too far the wrong way. And many, too many, were put in jail on trumped up charges that had no basis in reality; but lawyers sometimes fail their clients. And sometimes people charged with a crime shoot themselves in the foot during the evidentiary process. It happens.

After a phone call to the cops is made, it no longer matters if the woman in question wants to press charges. This is done by the state. Cops will ask if she wants to be nice about things and let it go, but they don't have to. They can carry the ball all on their own.

I hung out with the dude today. Spent 5 hours with him, like I do every sunday. After the game sometimes I drive him back to his fucking bridge. He's not a theoretical; this is what happens.

Women. It sucks to be an american man. It is not a case where we're just scared; we can and do get our lives ruined by simply being men.

So, yeah. Consider that before wondering why he doesn't make a move on you.

Edit:
I should add that there's 8 other guys under there with him. All of them because of the restrictions of the state.

Oh, and he's got an ankle bracelet. He must be back under the bridge by 6 pm every night. Since it's his 'legal residence'. If he gets a friend who offers him a place to stay for the night? Too bad, so sad.

DMF makes an excellent point.  My uncle who has worked in multi-national companies his entire life tells the story of working with Frenchmen.  His French colleagues specifically told him they didn't like to interact with women from the USA because they didn't want to be misunderstood and accused of sexual harassment just for having a conversation.  They couldn't quite get rid the nuances of their way of interacting (which is gloriously beautiful) that made women think they were flirting... even when they weren't!  They found it easier to just ignore the women and keep their careers.

best,
sunshine

Bridge troll. Cautionary tale. The question was why would a man not push his luck and kiss the girl. It was relevant!!!
