So long as the Master and slave are both doing what they love, why should love be impossible? They just express it differently. Caressing the cheek of your significant other may be how one couple shows affection, while for a hardcore M/s couple it might be caning the slaves ass until it bleeds.

Our relationship is a loving one but make no mistake, it can be brutal and bloody.
I don't think we should give the impression that love makes this lifestyle more tame. I was talking about this with Steve during the other thread on this and he admitted that when our relationship was at its fledgling stage, he was much more cautious because he feared losing me if he pushed me too hard. As our love grew for one another, so did our confidence and this led to the exact opposite. He started pushing me much harder because he no longer feared losing me.
I imagine if love was one sided or the dominant was unsure of how she felt about him, he would be afraid of scaring her off by pushing too hard but when they clearly love each other then the party can begin [;)]
