No, I think it's better the devil I know. If the US didn't exist, some damn fool would have to invent it. My bet is it would be the Chinese. And the worry is they'd be even better at it than you guys.

This is a perfect example of old world gratitude.
(a card I normally wouldn't play.....but in your case it seemed appropriate)

Glad to be of service!

If you can call having dragged us into two costly wars....and requiring us to guarentee your peace and security for nigh on 50 years as you being of service to us.....

I think one of the best things we could do to aid Mexico is to stop selling guns to the drug cartels. Drugs go north, guns go south. The Mexican government is outgunned by far.

Make penalties severe for buying guns on behalf of the cartels.

If people in the US weren't snorting, shooting and smoking boatloads of dope, the cartels wouldn't have as much to squabble over.

Mexico is what it is because it is Mexico...your fears that we could become like Mexico ignores completley all of the impediments our form of gov't and  our well established law enforcement/justice system would pose to such an outlandish proposition.
To read your post one just might think the visogoths are at the walls and it is time to man the ramparts.Just not so...and in no danger of being so.

Heh thanks..We'll send you a postcard but I am not sure they deliver to persons with their heads stuck in the sand these days.

Ah, no - I meant 'service' as in 'further inflating your God-given sense of US superiority'. But it's OK, you don't need to thank me...

Besides, US involvement in the world wars was hardly a selfless act, was it? And as for guaranteeing our safety, I suspect in the last 60 years the US has done more to make us unsafe than almost anyone I can think of... Now that's old world gratitude!

Perhaps you might share with us your knowledge of the "military history" you speak of which substantiates your moronic post.

The only thing more spot on than the crippling might of this post's incorrectness is the cringe that goes over me when I read causeless American hooting.

America entered World War I because of Prussian military power and autocratic Europe's threat to the Monroe Doctrine, and in World War II America required a means to claw its way out of the Depression after the loss of domestic industry. War production for the Allies saved America's economy, in other words.

I am sure there is a profit to be made somewhere...let's see.....

Buy up ALL Mexican pesos which will be less than the 2012 election cycle will cost. Mex-dollars...so much easier to make a profit.

Hit the drug cartel with the 101st Airborne and turn it over to the CIA...where it belongs.

Tell all of their oligarchs we'll give them 70 cents on the dollar and they can go play golf in Saudi Arabia.

Throw a few billion at the Mexican very few...opulent few for their 'state' oil Co. Pemex that now needs help keeping up and then the American opulent few can hire 'legals' increase production and 'take it public' oh boy !

Perhaps mikey will loan you the history book after he is done with it...I would caution you, just as I did mikey, not to use it for shit paper.

Collapse denotes failure and as we know, if you are big enough...failure is a profit center. Plus of course if America was really all that bad...Mexico would have been a US state long ago. I do wonder now that you brought it up, if Mexico would then be as bad as say Oregon or maybe even...the Falklands ?

Since the 1898 Spanish/American war...All wars are for a profit of course. WWI, $billions spent on stuff that never left the country. WWII doesn't happen without American/Nazis investment in Germany and Standard oil's fuel. VN, Korea and now...the century's early double payoff...Iraq and Afghanistan.

Thompson...we have danced to this tune all too many times...I will pass...but thanks anyway.
Curious the hooting wasn't causeless..it was in direct response to hertz'z rediculous statements.
Hertz...on reflection engaging one so wrapped up in American bashing(not to mention your well deserved reputation for bashing Israel) is a waste of my time.
Sunshine...I have no idea where your head is/has/was stuck....but why don't you folks get off the dime and actually seceede....than you can teach your kids and old shit you want....and execute as many innocent men as you want....and hear no complaints from folks like me.

It would be more productive to explain what you disagree with before using that kind of language with me. Shall we try that again?

Welcome to the realm of politics. If you expect to be treated with respect simply because you demand it, i would suggest another forum.

Dont judge me because I sin differently than you.
If you want it sugar coated, dont ask me what i think! It would violate TOS.

I am sorry I was not more specific.

America entered World War I because of Prussian military power and autocratic Europe's threat to the Monroe Doctrine, and in World War II America required a means to claw its way out of the Depression after the loss of domestic industry. War production for the Allies saved America's economy, in other words

The above statement would seem to indicate that the author has never been in the same zip code with a history book written for those who have progressed beyond grammar school.
Your statement is factually incorrect. All wars are fought for financial agrandisement.
