Pelosi to run for House Minority Leader? You mean there's a chance we get to run against this woman again? that she will remain as the face of the Dimocratic House??? Please. Lord, let her run, and ler her WIN!!! Amen.

What's funny here is that the Democrats are so confidant of the Republicans putting up a detestable, unelectable, extremist that the middle recoils from as a candidate against Pres. Obama in '12, yet they refuse to acknowledge that Pelosi has lower approval than Sarah Palin.

That was just fucking hilarious coming from Hippie...

God I hope not. While I have no doubt it would be possible for the current administration to fuck up badly enough to lose to her, I don't think that is the best path for our country. Far better to have someone more experienced and stable send President Obama back to Chicago.

I was referring to her writing "The Case for Chastity" in 1998. I dont consider someone almost 30 years old to be "barely a teenager" since she was born in 1969.

So she was 19... actually a teenager... in your reference.
I think she was 22 or so when the Maher tapes were made... almost a teenager.
Like I said, I don't see the "open door" thing there.

Yanno... I love the Cuda. Really do. I think she's an amazing story and a highly inspirational person. But I think the Peter Principle may have found her, at least for now.

Pelosi's time has come and gone. There's too much enmity toward her, both real and manufactured for political reasons, on the part of the GOP, for her to be effective in a time of (hopefully) working together in a bipartisan era. I've never understood the depth of the anger toward her, though.

Who knows whom the Republicans will run. The Tea Party candidates cost them the Senate this term, and the last crop in '08 was pretty wild, including formerly sane McCain running amuk and shooting from the hip (including the desperation of adding Palin for some female vote), changing him from someone I liked in 2000 to someone I just couldn't support in 2008.

You're making up the Pelosi shit. Many in the House are not at all pleased she wants to run for minority leader, and it's not at all certain she'll win the post. But on other hand, as you well know, it's always easier for the minority leader, who can sit back and take shots all day while the majority leader takes the heat.

We'll see. Hardly a done deal.

As for 2012, we've both many times seen some relative unknown step up and win strong support. Newt wants to run, but he's unpopular even with many Republicans. And establishment Republicans themselves, while they're not going to say it publicly, are terrified of a Palin run, as it would indeed likely cost them the election (and yes, Obama is vulnerable in 2012, no doubt--he needs to make visible changes by the State of Union if he plans to continue--but then, despite disapproval, he's STILL more popular than either Congress or Republicans, so who knows).

But it's early. Anything could happen yet, and may.

You seem confused Popeye....I have no,zero,zip,nada influence on whether or not Nancy Pelosi is elected minority leader.I will mention this though...the fact that most of the Democrats voted out of office were of a conservative bent....will go a long ways towards her retaining her Democratic leadership role....and I'm not so sure that's a bad thing...She fought long and hard to wrestle Health Care reform thru the House.She has been a strond advocate for the President's agenda....and she will be a competant and voracious fighter against Republican attempts to roll back what gains were made in the last 2 years.
