truckinslave -> Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 1:18:26 AM)

TheHeretic and I were saying that the Cuda might beat 0bama0 in 2012- and I for one would enthusiastically support her if she won the nomination- but we both, I think, would rather see someone else win it. The question obviously becomes okay, then who?
I dunno.
The crop from the last cycle all seem like alsorans to me. Romney has MassCare around his neck Huckabee has, I think, used the last two years to become a much more effective speaker/campaigner- and I could surely support him as well- but I have to admit I have very personal reservations about anyone who would leave the pulpit for politics. My guy- Fred Thompson- doesn't even want it, and it showed.
Christie, I think, needs to season. Rubio, too, although maybe less so.
I heard JC Watts the other night; I've always loved the quiet competence that I hear in his voice. Like Palin, to me, a very inspiring story.

I trhink Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, and Newt are looking at running. I don't think they're likely to win. Perry, maybe.

Mitch (?) Daniels has evidently done a helluva job as Governor of Indiana.

I just dunno.

Who do you like?

How about Arnold from California.He's the one Repub who could win but wait,he can't because he wasn't born in America.... Just remember,alot of the Obama voter's didn't really come out and vote for the 2010 election's.I am sure they will come out and vote again in 2012 for Obama.Alot of these race's where more on a local and statewide level.

popeye1250 -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 2:23:53 AM)

Yeah, I've always liked J.C. Watts too!
And Col. Allen West who just won a seat in congress from Fla. would also be on my list.
As far as I'm concerned any candidate who doesn't want to close that Mexican border or strictly enforce our immigration laws should withdraw.
Dr. Michael Savage would make a great candidate and I'd LOVE to see Ann Coulter run just to see the coniption fits on the left!
I'd much rather see us hire a manager though for a number of years, say three. Hire People like Allen Mulally of Ford who know what they're doing to actually "manage" the country.
And Donald Trump is said to be interested in the job.
We'd still have a president of course but they'd be more of a figurehead like the king or queen in England.
You just can't have lawyers trying to run the country. They're just not good managers.
Sorry to say but it's becomming painfully obvious that Obama just isn't up to the job. It looks like he's being overwhelmed and he's a poor communicator. And he's trying to take the country where the people don't want it to go.
You need to be a good *listener* to be president and that means listening to the American people!
How many congressmen and senators and governors just lost their jobs because of Obama?
Presidents are not put in office to *dictate* to the American People.
They can dictate to federal employees and the military but not to *The People.*
Obama has a dictatorial and condecending style that doesn't endere him to many people.
It'll be very interesting to see who emerges over the next year or so and you certainly can't count out Hillary Clinton!
She must see this election as a weakness for Obama and an in for her. And she's not getting any younger! If she's going to make a move it had better be in 2011.

Charles6682 -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 2:38:53 AM)

Hillary wouldn't be too bad.You'd have Bill back in the White House,lol,that's too funny.If Obama was smart,he better offer Hillary that VP slot to Hillary fast.Biden can fill Hillary's job.A perfect switch.

You've not considered Rupert Murdoch, is he running indirectly?

Don't you worry that your media and your government are merging into one entity?

Does Fox news have enough analysts and anchors to fill every seat in government, humm we'll have to do a head count to realise this ambition.

truckinslave -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 7:19:19 AM)

Yeah, Alan West is good. I think maybe a couple terms in the House or veep, but Ike went straight from the battlefield to the White House, not to mention George Washington.
Some libtard would try to kill Savage. Before Super Tuesday. Ditto Anne. But it really would be soooooo much fun to watch.
Greta interviewed Trump last week. He is definately interested. Even sounded like he knew what he was talking about.
But you're like me? Haven't picked a horse yet, just watching the field?

truckinslave -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 7:23:08 AM)

I think the threshold for Hilary is 0bama0 approval at 40% or less. He shoud definately be there soon... I think fear of losing to him might still stop her; and I think she'd be right. Most Dim disatisfaction with 0bama0 comes from the left (as hard as that is for me to believe). I don't think she has any hope or desire to go left of him, and the dim party is definately off its meds.

mnottertail -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 7:25:26 AM)

well, I suppose they are going to have to enlarge the sucking areas in the bathrooms at reagan international with all the republicans there now.

whos going to pay for that?

pahunkboy -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 7:30:14 AM)

Ron Paul.

Curious if we will have a $  in 2012.    What will it buy?

The fed says there is not enough inflation.    So guess what?   They want inflation.   Ron Paul is the only one who will take on the fed.

Unless we fix monetary policy-  we are as good as pissing in the wind on Rons farm.

subrob1967 -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 8:42:06 AM)

Forget about Daniels, he's not even running for Gov in 12, he's done with politics, which is too damn bad, he's done a fantastic job of bringing in new business to the state. Rumor has it it will be a Pence v Bayh battle for our next governor.

That leaves me with Christie as my best hope. I'm done with Romney, Huckabee, and all the other failures in the previous election. Newt is damaged goods, the only chance he has is with the Bible thumpers.

tazzygirl -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 8:46:27 AM)

Chris has gone on the record that he isnt running in 2012

Musicmystery -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 8:55:39 AM)

Campaign 012 started the first Wednesday of Nov. 2008.

slvemike4u -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 9:12:06 AM)

You lost me when you stated that you would support Palin in 2012(not that you ever had a chance of "getting" me....lol) .Palin heading up the ticket gaurenfuckentees a second term for President Obama....please lord let the repubnigts(dims?) choose this train wreck as their standard bearer...please!
Do you suppose she could choose Angle,Whitman or O'Donnell as her running mate.
Fucking nirvana for the Democrats.

Lol, Palin's a trainwreck?
What would that make Obama, a "slow freight?" "Derailed?" "Barry the Tank Engine?"
Pleeese let Obama run in 2012 instead of Hillary!
Mike, YOU could run as a Republican in 2012 against Obama and win!

Musicmystery -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 10:47:50 AM)

OK.....apparently campaign 2012 started BEFORE Nov. 2008....

There's a good chance you're right; but it all depends on how much further success 0bama0 has in both putting off his base and alienating independents. But, if she wins the primaries, i would certainly support her candidacy.

Is repubnigts a spelling error? I appreciate the attempt at imitation, btw. Thank you.

servantforuse -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 11:07:43 AM)

Two names you might be seeing. Paul Ryan from Wisconsin, and Tim Pawlenty from Minnesota..

TheHeretic -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 11:11:41 AM)

If you are going to go citing my statements in your OP, Truck, I'm going to ask that you be very accurate in doing so. What I have said is that this administration is capable of fucking up badly enough to make that happen. It's a comment on their competence, rather than her suitability. She still has a valuable role to play over the next year, but I would prefer to see her removed from the primary process early, if she jumps into the race.

I dont like Huckabee. He is an anti-abortion liberal, and not much more. His background as a Baptist minister makes it very hard for me to view him in a positive light.

I don't know if Daniels has the charisma and ability to articulate a conservative vision that it will take to mount a serious challenge to the President.

As it looks today, Obama's campaign will be tough to beat. Presidents who get thumped in their first mid-term have a way of getting re-elected. He has an enemy to demonize and run against now, and he'll be free to play the race card directly this time around. It will be how they run the government, and deal with the inevitable crises, not how they manage the campaign, that will be the biggest factor.

I'd like to see Rudy Giuliani have another shot at it.

Chris Christie may not run, but I think he would be a huge asset on the bottom of any ticket we wind up with.

slvemike4u -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 11:23:58 AM)

Yanno,I thought there was something wrong with that right off the bat....I've seen enough of your posts to understand that you are a political pragmatist....and as such,no matter your own views on her suitabilty you realise that barring a fucking cataclysm that wipes out a dissporpotionate amount of thinking intelligent folks....Palin is totally unelectable/

subrob1967 -> RE: Campaign 012 started Wednesday (11/6/2010 11:26:57 AM)

I'm personally gonna keep an eye on Rubio, if Obama can do it...

I'd love to see a Rubio/Bachmann ticket, just to watch heads explode around here.
