If domain names were more heavily policed you could achieve the same without such novelty. Since it's voluntary it's not heavily policed and so the filtering will still have to be based on the various listing systems of adult sites as it is now.

I'm a conservative, Steve, not an anarchist. Money has to flow to the government. The credit card bill has to get paid, and the baby boomers are starting to cash their social security checks, and sign up for Medicare.

It's better, I think, to keep the income taxes down, and pick up the extra we need on the other end. A sin tax of some sort, on internet porn might be a piece of that.

Yes it sucks having to pay the risk fee and being happy that's all it is. That's the best case if you can get a merchant account. You know how hard it can be to get a merchant account for an adult business. So many people get stuck using service providers who charge anywhere form 10 to 25 percent a transaction.

Then you just can't hop over to go daddy and register "Pink Pussy dot com" and open a store. You've got to use a hosting service that deals with adult content. Knowing that, they of course charge a premium price.

The same thing will happen with a xxx domain name. The people who register them will charge a premium just because they can.
