It is disappointing if you really put a lot of effort in a mail and don't get a response. But that's all. It's disappointing. Not rude. Yes, their profile said they are searching and yes it said that they "always" respond. So what? But now I've got a question. If you contacted someone and got a "No thanks" back. Did you reply and thanked them for the answer? Because in my opinion it would be rude not to thank them.
