To the Op.....I don't waste much time thinking about how others enjoy themselves,
unless I'm expected to play a role in their enjoyment. In which case I'd say no thank you.

Would you be willing to serve somebody freely in the capacity she or he wants you to serve? A professional dominant doesn't just take the money out of an open wallet, they do offer their time and expertise and the fulfill your kinks and then you are free to leave again and resume your life, without all the pesky little things you have to do in a lifestyle relationship, like being available when the dominant partner wants you to be, doing stuff you really don't want to do, etc. Plus they have the equipment, the facilities and the outfits to make your fantasy as real as possible, all those things don't come cheap or free... Just a thought...

You might have misunderstood.  IMO, a Dom/me exchanges money for services / time.  IMO, "tribute" is freely given (by the sub / slave) without expectation of service / time.

Think "tribute" to the Roman Emperor from conquered lands.  In that instance, a bribe to not invade.

Tribute is given as a sign of respect without expectation of reward or anything else.

Payment to a Pro.... expected on both sides - a business arrangment.

And that is what the OP is asking?  Why would anyone just give money / gifts to a person they have not rec'd anything from?

We have donations to churches and charitable organizations, so the OP is basically asking why would anyone donate to a charity?  Well, obviously, the anaology breaks down.....

Status: offline 		MASTER LANCEHUGHES has pointed out to me my ignorance of the terms payment and tribute. Payment is for services rendered and tribute is a gift with no expectation of anything in return.

What i should have said is that i have paid for time spent with Pro Dominants. Despite the fact that it is a "business" arrangement, i have always conducted myself properly in their presence and have always treated them with the respect they and their position deserve from the likes of me

Status: offline 		Money, like almost everything around us can be part of someone's sexuality. Giving gifts, cash etc can be really important in how some people feel about themselves and the person their giving to.... seems to me it's their sexuality and they probably know what they need better than I do.

As a Dom/me couple whose main interest in TPE M/s we would accept and usually expect total conrol of a slaves money just like everything else in their life but money isn't really a focus of our sexuality, power and control are.

Basically these 'financial dommes' are whores.  Nothing more, nothing less.
