Hardly the one you suggested. Your pov is hardly new to me or unique.

As evidenced here... http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=3051250

One day you might want to consider why that is

I know why that is. If its labled religious, its easier to gain the favor of the people. Those in power knew this best. Its also easier to have the atheists berate it without questioning it themselves.

Pity, and i was always told atheists were the more intelligent of the groupsut, on these boards, i have yet to see that proven.

Now really, was there any need for that?

When you belittle, expect it in return.

*sigh*

I was doing no such thing, but "whatever". I don't think there's any point trying to have a sensible conversation with you on this topic.

Unlike you, however, I won't be chalking that up as due to the fact all religious people are stupid.

That claim has already been made... and debunked... thank you very much... by an atheist no less.

Suddenly, the reasoning behind your statement that you've seen no evidence atheists are intelligent becomes clear ...

Richard Dawkins answers his hate mail...
Don't see the fucking Pope or Jerry Falwell doing this, do you?

Being scrupulously fair (as I always try to), he isn't actually answering it, just reading it.

But yes, very funny in parts. The following lines really gave me the giggles:

"Right now, your destiny is all fucked up, fucking atheist!"

and:

"our god is a loving god ... but if you keep peddling this kind of filth then I pity you when Jesus returns"

I had just about recovered from those when the "church van" line appeared ... a modern comedy classic

Well, reading it out on youtube in a mocking voice is sort of an answer, at least.

Ya said last I heard it it was over land..It just so happened that it was over Holy Land which I believe it was first started over.

You glitched over that pretty tidbit and now want to sidestep your way through history. As often you do about a lot of things.

Don't be an idiot.

Nobody NEEDS love, but I'm sure you agree that we're all better off with it, than without.

I do indeed agree. But we're human. A god isn't.

And that is where you get the problem where people limit a god to human behaviour.  I am sure if god needed love, he would have created dogs and been happy at that.

What exactly makes you sure of that?

In the same way that makes one believe god exists and needs love.

And just for an added bonus... the above statements are not necessarily a statement of what I believe but an example of the way people limit god.

Well if you don't mean what you write, I don't have any time for you. Keep your bonus, and shove it where you love it.

I don't like wasting time on the likes of you.

Hang on ... you're religious, but don't like someone playing Devil's Advocate?

I know, I know ... don't rip my head off, I was merely amusing myself, in a figurative sense. You're back in angry mode again. But look on the bright side - it's Friday! Friday's always a good day*

*unless something awful** happens on a Friday, of course.
** Independent Television, Low Alcohol Lager ... you get the idea ...

Yes yes, I got the jestful vibe right after the little smiley after "Advocate"...

But the anger is only momentary, rightfully righteous (Please God let me not use that phrase too often!!) , and down to a few sherberts on said otherwise happy Friday night. The little shit is now on 'Ignore' ("Hide" to be exact), I don't mind him pissing his life down the toilet in fruitless exchanges, but I don't want to be an unwitting victim by participation.

Looking forward to a jaunt into the country this weekend. Trips to country pubs in the freezing cold with warm fireplaces and even warmer lasses to chat to.

Just imagine me WITHOUT that to look forward to. Then you'd REALLY see Mr Angry.

I see how this game works...

Are you that easily lead or is it just easier to not believe that it all wasn't about not all religion?

An intelligent person wouldnt have to guess.

You make quite a few assumptions. The fact that religious people cannot be intelligent. Im sure you do realize how wrong you are in that assertion.

The OP is from Ohio. How do i know? I didnt have to assume, or guess, i merely looked at his profile. Again, the intelligence over the guessing game.

quote:

it is impossible to say anything intelligent or meaningful about something which is supposed to be omnipitant, and omnipresent

Funny, this argument always leaves out the ability for free will.

No it doesnt.

A truly terrifying concept.

Like being savaged by a dead sheep, I shouldn't wonder

ETA: Your country pub weekend sounds lovely. Have a great time. Oh and, if that's Darcy&tD that posted the thing that got you hot under the collar (and I've no way of knowing if it is, coz if it is he/they have changed his/their posting name since last I was on CM) then that was, if I recall correctly, a thoughtful and humane poster. It could be someone else, but if so they're using a similar personal logo/avatar. Anyway, they certainly weren't the enemy the last I looked. Again, I realise, you are hardcore, take no prisoners, etc etc ... it's just you seem to react very "light-switch" when either a) your balls are full and/or b) you've had a bad week at work. I'm guessing it's the latter, as I'm sure your harem wouldn't leave you in such a state by choice.

Anyway, all I'm saying is he's maybe not the Evil you think he is. Or I'm wrong and ... actually even then he may still not be ... in any case, have a spiffy weekend and try not to get snippy with waiters because they'll only piss in your soup.
