My son just called me "crazy", after his girlfriend told him I have a deer head hanging in my tree right now. Apparently it disturbed her....

Bambi and all his relatives make fairly frequent appearances at my house, too. I usually hang the heads in my stew pot rather than on a tree though. Venison is too yummy to waste.

The only time that deer hanging from a tree is untoward, is when its 50 degrees or more, and the sun is shining on them as you show off your skills and rot the fucking things.

Yes indeed. The best part was that I made a city boy get it for me in the first place. [:D] You see, I saw the body along our northeast fence on Friday morning, when I was leaving for work. I made a phone call back home and told Generic Dude he had to go get the rack for me but he was not allowed to chop it off. I wanted the horn part that goes down into the skull. He took that as getting the entire head. Apparently it had been there for a day or two and was just a tad ripe. One cut and he went running, gagging and screaming back to the house. Trooper that he is, put some Vicks on his nose and a mask and got it. He is praying that the birds and raccoons will help with the cleaning process so that he can remove the full antlers.
