When i was a young lad, about 23, i was obsessed with the dominant/submissive situation and was introduced to it by a MISTRESS who was probably in the 45 - 50 year range.

Personally i feel more comfortable with a DOMINANT in my age group only because they tend to have experience and take our roles very seriously. The last "young" MASTER i saw regulary was about 30 and HE was great. However, HE liked to include his girlfriend sometimes who thought the whole scenario was rather silly

My adivice is find someone who can give you what you need and want regardless of their age and who will be responsible and serious

I think this is more important aspect than age, but maturity is generally more common with age. It's the only thing that would make me wary of a younger anything, slave or Master/Mistress.

As a Master I do not want a slave that will wake up one day and decide they had tried enough of this lifestyle and now want to move on to try something else. It's a commitment on my side just as much as theirs. That has a chance of happening with any slave of course, but one who has lived the lifestyle for many years and remained in it is less likely to do such a thing.

On the flip side I would think most slaves certainly do not want a Master who suffers from what I'd like to call "new toy syndrome", where they enjoy picking up new slaves all the time, having their fun, and then discarding them when they find a newer toy or get bored.

When I dated vanilla-wise (which wasn't that often), I tended to connect with younger women than myself. But whenever I ended up connecting with a dominant, it was almost always with one that was older than me, although that was never what I was seeking at the time. Historically, that's generally what's worked out for me. During one of my deepest relationships, I thought I had found a woman who was a few years younger than me; years later, I discovered that she was essentially being a bit coy with her age, and it turned out she was a few years older than me. Wouldn't have bothered me at the time, but sometimes people are really strange when it comes to age and admitting age.

Expanding upon what a previous poster said in this thread, if you're looking for someone based on age, you're going to miss so many opportunities that might be available to you at the time that doesn't fit into that unnecessary paradigm you're setting up for yourself. But to each his/her own, I guess.

Take the young ones, they tend to live longer and leave us old broads alone!

(Can ya tell I'm a bit cranky in my old age, when those I could have birthed are trying to get a lil old broad? What? Does no one teach math anymore? How many times does 25 go into 53? What the hell do I have in common with a kid I could have birthed... okay some are no longer kids... but still too young and at a different stage of life than I am at.)

My first dom (way back in the day), who was one of only two men who have ever controlled me, is significantly older than me. My ex-husband, who briefly tried to dom me before giving up completely, is eight years older. My most recent ex, who also tried to dom me and failed, is two years younger. My owner, who is the only man I have ever submitted to and the only one who will ever own me, is three years younger. Age has little to do with a dom's abilities. Experience matters much more, but the most important factor is personailty. Some people are just meant to be doms.
