Actually most people in the UK are oblivious regarding land ownership etc, etc.

Over here we have a bigger problem because we have to pay something called Council Tax. Council Tax is worked out according to your house size (land it is sitting on) and your area and non payment of Council Tax would lead to almost certain confiscation of your property (even if you had payed your entire mortgage off) and lead to a possible prison sentence.
Lets say I buy a house in one of the London's poorer areas. I'm not going to get anything short of £200'000 and that's not going to get me much! That's a council tax (F) band rating and I would be looking at paying nearly £2000 a year extra in council tax.

The ownership of land in the UK is a very gray area. If you look up ownership of your house on a land registry, it will only show who owns 50% of the land. Who owns the rest?

Central government portion local governments with money and basically our council tax makes up the difference.
It doesn't matter if your a house owner or a tenant, you still have to pay CT.

I have never heard such nonsense. Of course the City of London is part of the UK. In fact the Old Bailey, which is the Central Ciminal Court for England and Wales, is based in The City of London.

It`s hard to take anyone who believes 9/11 was carried out by the US Government serious. I felt I had to reply to the above nonsense though. America didnt win a war with Britain as such, they won the war of independence. If you had marched in triumph down Piccadilly you might have some sort of point. The upshot was a peace agreement granting the US indepedence fron the UK. George III was forever known as "The King who lost the colonies"

This isnt true. The City of London operates as a Corporation, which means some of the laws that apply there are not the same as municipal law. The title was granted by William the Conqueror, granting the Citizens rights that had enjoyed since Saxon times.
