Dresden Dolls - that's something new for me, and I love it. I'm always impressed at how when you put just two people on stage, sometimes, the energy level just goes through the roof...

Death From Above 1979 - Black History Month

hertz -> RE: that other other other music thread (11/16/2010 2:30:49 PM)

Mazzy Star - Fade Into You

I really love this record. It captures a certain feeling for me just perfectly.

She's got an amazing voice....very mellow and trippy.

I agree with soul2share, old rock, country, classical, disco, ect. Love Styx and Journey. No Rap here, just can't handle it. My son loves that stuff.

that's fine, share what old rock, country, or classical you like.

as for Classical, I've always been partial to Gershwin, jazziest of the classical composers. Of course I tend to lean towards some of the more bombastic opera if I can help it.

I don't know why all you folks can't shime up and talk bout some of your fav classic rock, hell, like I said before, most of the links in the op were pre 80's.
I wasn't even around then so I know you old folks gotta know some great tunes that I have no idea of.

Speaking of old rockers
here's some Aynsley Dunbar
you might have heard him play fer zappa
Met him while he was working with Eric Burden

Score

one of my favorite songs of all times is hookers burning hell off his best of album, in an interview about that particular recording session, he said that the random kid they picked up to do the harmonica was on fire, he could barely keep up.
Unfortunately I lost the cd, if you ever see the Best of john lee hooker with a green case(there's several different best of of his)I suggest picking it up and checking it out
