There is nothing honourable about her, she was a spoiled brat who couldn't handle the job. The fact that she died unnecessarily in no way changes the facts, nor does it beatify her, despite what many seem to think.

Oh hog wash!

She was the best thing to happen to that family in over a century.

If we could only sell them to the Yanks, you got Becks and Posh wouldn't Kate and Will make the collection complete? I haven't quite figured out what use they are here apart from costing a lot of money.

i can't figure out their use either and won't even bother to try...a day like today just reminds me again to get my damn pay tv sorted as there at least i could escape this royal wedding stuff..so in general i wish them the best even when personally i couldnt care less...

You must be the only Kraut to see it that way...because every one....every single one....of your newspapers had it at front page news. Die Welt....Bild...the lot....ours didn't...The Guardian...Financial Times....The Independent etc.....

I personally couldn't give a flying one about the whole affair but the Krauts seem to have a taste for it.

Don't I love it if Northern Scum calls me a Kraut, can you explain how the product of Italian/Swedish parents happens to be German? By assimilation an having lived there? Oh dear, then I also must be Irish, Australian, American and oh yeah, British since I am currently living near that great shitpile, it's called Manchester.

But if you see fit to cite Bild, I guess you're more familiar with The Daily Star or The Sun, but then your nick says you are a Northerner...

Slow down eh. Ain't you a bit touchy? You weren't mentioned in my post - nor were you replied to - and there's a reason for that - I hadn't noticed you until this point.

My final word on this is. I hope the monarchy remains because if and when it goes, I believe this country will be unrecognizable as we see it today and not in a good way.

They're a bunch of drones and the sooner the in-bred loafers and their ilk are ended the better.

PS: I'm not a fan, as you might have guessed [;)]

I watched Diana wed Charles when I was 8. I watched Diana's funeral when I was 25. OF COURSE I will watch William and Kate's wedding! Cannot wait!

At a time when the UK and its people are facing such a dismal time of things the last, and I mean absolutely the LAST thing we need, is a bunch of upper-class twits parading around.

But hey, I realise I'll be in the minority, so it's not a problem.

Actually it's just what is needed in these dismal times. It helps to take our minds off of our lives for a little while and be  happy for someone else. There's nothing wrong with being a little joyful sometimes.

Yes, because nothing makes me feel all chipper and tickety-boo more than watching a couple of clueless, overpaid leeches on society form a partnership that will, almost inevitably, result in yet more of the chinless wonders roaming the planet.

Happy-happy-happy. Joy, joy, joy.

Indeed not, and I generally am. However, if they really want to see me happy - if they want me to roam hither and thither, hugging perfect strangers and laughing like a Cavalier, then they could do a lot worse than to burn the vacuous idiots alive.

I'd bring sausages and everything [:D]

Forget the 'our'.

I'll be a little joyful to see some ordinary people being happy.  The sorts of people who've paid for them to be happy, that is.

Personally I find them just as ordinary as anyone else....a happy couple very much in love. I am happy for my coworker when she got married recently and another who is having twins in two months. If someone started a topic about them I'd comment on how happy I am for them as well. The only difference between them and William and Kate is that William and Kate are in the spotlight and everyone around the world knows who they are.

That's not the only difference.

Unless your co-workers are hugely and expensively supported by taxpayers' money?

HEre in the U.S, we all are unless you're completely self sufficient which very few are. We all pay taxes, we all are supported in some way from it.

So they get millions in direct money from taxpayers then, including hugely expensive security, round the clock, all while doing nothing in return?

Wow! Cool job!

I think it is so sweet that the ring he gave her, was his mother's. I just hope it doesn't create a jinx though......

From what I've previously read over the years, a load of blokes had already fingered his mum's ring, and they seem to have done ok, so it'll hopefully all be fine.

As we know the date is April 29 and its going to be at Westminster Abbey.

But what does a public holiday mean in England?   "
Prime Minister David Cameron confirmed that the wedding day would be a public holiday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland's government was also expected to announce a public holiday."

It means a Bank Holiday, so everyone gets the day off. Apart from essential services like Policemen, etc, who will be on treble or more time, so having fun too.

Personally, I'll be leaving people to watch the happy leeches/couple, and digging my bike out - the roads will be deserted, if Di's funeral was anything to go by. What an excellent day that was - not a thing on the roads.

About five billion pounds loss to the economy, according to the conservative newspaper, The Telegraph. That's six billion lost in work-days, but a billion clawed back in tourism and sales of memorabilia.
