Sarah Palin is really sort of, you know, talking about thinking of running for president in 2012. In the way that people who might be real candidates do.

A New York Times magazine cover piece out this week quotes her as saying that she is “having that discussion with my family.” In an interview with Barbara Walters set to air on ABC in early December, she says she’s “looking at the lay of the land” right now.

When Ms. Walters asks Gov. Palin if she could beat President Obama in 2012, she replies, “I believe so.”

I think you've worked hard for this. You probably deserve her. But the problem is, the rest of us will have to put up with her too. The clock is ticking. I read somewhere that Donald Trump is a potential rival candidate for the Republicans. Do you have any other dead wood you'd like to offer up to the American public?

Lucylastic -> RE: President Palin (11/18/2010 1:46:23 PM)

Oh I hope she runs
please please make her run

hertz -> RE: President Palin (11/18/2010 1:52:48 PM)

I have to admit, the thought is really amusing me as well. But it's bitter sweet. I want her to run. I want her to be the Republican candidate. I even want her to be President - that would be just sooooo funny! But at the same time I am very, very scared. She's more bat-shit crazy than Reagan was on a very bad day.

A Palin-Trump ticket, or a Trump-Palin ticket.

Either way it's hilarious.

Lifestyles of the rich and stupid.

Where's Robin Leach when you need him?

If they elect her, they deserve EVERYTHING they get
no sympathies what so ever
I do actually believe the majority of the American public do see her for what she is tho
an accident looking for somewhere to happen
and an embarrasment to thinking adults

mnottertail -> RE: President Palin (11/18/2010 2:06:21 PM)

Well, I don't see where shes got any support, even with her fundraising.  As I said, only the nutsuckers in the small unimportant states won, she was trashed all over fuck elsewhere.

But I do admit it would be far easier to see her from my TV than to go peer out  the Pitcherwindow and see her from my house.

The GOP could nominate a Turnip and beat Obama at this time...Be careful what you wish for...

Her overall approval rating has not gone beyond 30% in the last year.

Interestingly enough though, her approval ratings among Republicans have been in the 70-80% range.

Go Sarah!

She's the best thing that could happen for Democrats in 2012.

There certainly is a patch of turnips to choose from.

You do realize Obama's approval ratings have never been below 45%.

Gallup Daily: Obama Job Approval

Edited to add that the lowest I have seen has been 43% by conservative polls done by Rasmussen and Fox, but still a strong showing considering Dubya won a second term with similar ratings.

Historical Bush Approval Ratings

mnottertail -> RE: President Palin (11/18/2010 2:33:20 PM)

I think around 16% of the US population likes turnips.

Charles6682 -> RE: President Palin (11/18/2010 2:33:28 PM)

She couldn't win the VP with a well respected person in John McCain at her side.Who do you think would vote for her as President except some teabagger's,white trash and the holy roller's?

While I agree with what you are saying, it is teabaggers and rollers.

If you keep using these unnecessary apostrophes you are going to be responsible for my hospital bills after I bang my head against the wall until I am unconscious.

Now don't be lying.

We all remember how you thought Dubya was cute.

You've confused me with Firm

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2010/10/06/2010-10-06_obamahil_ticket_on_the_table.html

Lots of speculations, about Hillary jumping on board with Obama...but out of her own mouth she has said "I am NOT interested in VP"...maybe she has her eyes on a higher prize?

Both Palin and Clinton scare me, for different reasons, is there a curtain number 3 ?
