If he had been allowed to marry her in the first place, instead of the Queen interfering, then one unhappy marriage wouldn't have occurred. Of course Diana and he did produce two wonderful children. But still, she's always been his one true love and still is. To me, that kind of steadfastness of heart says something rare and wonderful.

Well, I can think of something. The monarchy's existence depends a huge amount on people's love of tradition. It really would jar quite badly in many people's eyes to see a king with . . . what? What title does she have? Every time she's referred to by anyone, any part of the media, as anything other than the traditional title, the thought will go through people's minds that our 'royalty isn't what it once was'.

I really couldn't have cared less about Charles and Diana, and saw him as anti-science and her as a weak chick who failed grade 10 and got talked into the world's god-awfullest wedding gown [think of a white hankie soaked in tea: now crumple it up, put it in a carriage, and walk down the aisle. So I put them down to a pair of inbred dumbasses. But then the real love story came out, that he continued to love an older, plain woman when married to a crazy dyed-blonde nose-jobbed clotheshorse. What really clinched it for me was when he wanted to be Camilla's tampon. Now THAT man is born to be King. So the evil princess died because she was too stupid and entitled to wear her seatbelt, the prince married his real princess, and I hope they live happily ever after. Just for christsake don't give him any real power. He may be the hero of a romance, but he's still dumb.

Don't care much about the relationships. Camilla is the other woman. Not an interesting woman in my book. Charles is not in the eye of the beholder. He still looks like himself back in '81. He much be using Olay to keep a semi-wrinkle skin. Now, there are going to be many stories floating about the newly engaged. There was the same hoopla about Duke of York and his common wife. (Think Sarah) To me, it is cool that the former princess's ring was used...something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Now...to ignore the yellow journalism that will sprout its ugly head...

Not to worry.....I have it on good rumor that the queen plans to outlive Chuck just to piss him off and deny him ascension to the throne. Prince William will be the next King.

And that is why the royals get a lot of sympathy from me, because honestly, thwy can't even trust their personal staffs. Philip is the prince-consort, right? I'm sure some kind of alternate title could be found for camilla.
