I'm not going to flame you dude.I'll only suggest you do research on the web instead-then draw you own feasibility conclusions.

Unfortunately, that seems the only option at present. Just be very ware of what the motivations are-on both sides. Look beyond the masks.

There is no way I would legislate any form of legal slavery... I am not opposed to calling your dynamic whatever you choose, but you should have the right to be free if you wish at any time you so desire.

Why?... Choosing to live a certain way is through personal choice....... it can be done without a great *beating of drums*......

Even on a basic level....I can't imagine any *official body* being able to make headway through the many kinks, fetishes and styles that abound.

Even in the BDSM world, there is enough debate concerning what a slave is...and how it's determined.

I'd be interested to know what thoughts led to the OP.

Heck no!

"Please Mr. Dubya-Era Government Official, come into my alternative-lifestyle home and make sure Master isn't paddling me too hard."  Ack.

As much as I would love to see the lifestyle more open and accepted, would be happier if government left it the friggin hell alone.  They've done more to hurt the Lifestyle than ever help it.  Personally i'd rather see them stay the fuck out.

lol... gosh if I used the web as my basis of research... then this is a sure thing..... Everything is possible on the web *G*... it's kinda living a fantasy... anything can happen in ones fantasy..... Now if one actually has to go and meet people face to face and lobby for this great new idea for human civilization... well... I suspect one would have better luck pushing an elephant thru a key hole.

By giving a legislative body any power or involvement would be a great folly.  It would create a haven for abusers and allow slick lawyers to manipulate you desire to submit into a sacrifice of your rights. You would be allowing your rights, and the rights legislated by the bozo’s that be, to be open for wide interpretation. Abuse would become rampant with little or no legal reprisals.

Now I have been wrestling with this for a bit and would like some feedback. Would you use a site that posted information about lifestyle people, the good, the bad, and the ugly? My dilemma is vindictive people who would abuse an informational system to spite another. I am at odds with the idea but if it would help the community(s) feel safe I wouldn’t mind paying the dues for bandwidth to operate a site.

mkme--no worries, you wooley mamoth you.  Welcome to CM; a pleasure to meet you.

Loki--Nope.  The credibility of such a site is compromised at its inception--too many people with too many axes to grind out there, and I much prefer to come to my own conclusions about an individual or their circumstances, rather than rely on a third party--especially one I don't know.

Why not just bring back slavery? Forget consentual... Bankruptcies will go down - or atleast the funds recovered from the bankruptcy would...

Struggling young families could sell thier daughters to pay for Jimmy's education...

Oh, and costs of goods would dramaticly drop, as labour is now a capital expense... Probably good for the economy...

Just a thought...

maybemaybenot -> RE: Campaign to legalise adult consensual slavery relationships. (4/28/2006 4:35:05 PM)

NO ! NO! NO!  For fucks sake, NO !

In addition to everythign else mentioned before me:

We already have an illegal slave trade happening in this country. So... let's say we adopt this new *amendment*. All the flesh peddlers, who get their victims thru intimidation, violence, threats <and the beat goes on>, now have a legal loophole to hold women, men and teens as slaves LEGALLY.
It's  difficult enough to prosecute involuntary servitude cases. Just what we need, a regulation to make it even harder to prosecute abusers.

And what would constitute slave mistreatment, no flogging?

Dont they already have road crew and work details in prison?

Whatever happened to the 20 years at hard labour? Shouldnt there be a requirement that prisoners do something, rather than "hang out" all day. I bet the number of problems in prisons would drop, if they where busy crushing rocks or something all day... too tired to scrap...

Real captive slavery isnt going to get an image make over anytime soon.

Look at Alabama, the governor set up a series of boot camps to accomodate a rising criminal population and lack of space to house them. He purchased government surplus tents set up razor wire around them and called it a jail. The paperwork went out in droves about cruel and unusual punishment. Imagine that criminals being treated like criminals  devoid of satellite tv, 4 star meals, sports equipment, computers and the comforts that many of us have to pay lots of money for every month. I think the funniest topper was that they washed the white underwear and orange jump suits together once and ended up with large batches of pink socks and undies. Apparently the pink was the last straw and the prisoners rioted and the warden was fired.

With all of the crime, homelessness and child neglect in this country I find it ironic and hysterical that the government in light of all the things they can't get right is so interested in my bedroom, my boy and registering my body.
