yeah I"m wondering what is considered "local". Some of those listed as local to me here in PA are from Texas and Alabama...uuuumm....not even anywhere near close to PA lol.

LW it goes from the zipcode you enter.

And the zip code the other person entered. If someone from another state shows up as local, it means their zip code may be incorrect.

ok well then that makes an awfully lot of locals with the incorrect zipcode entered. If nothing else the newest local users feature wiill help to weed out the "fakes" a little faster lol.

Is there a grace period from the time you "uncheck" the box, until the time it actually stops?     It's been two days, I'm still getting notices via email....the last one at 12:57pm, last night.  I went to look and the box is still unchecked...

You're not the only one having that problem.

I unchecked the box as soon as I found the darn thing (before this thread even started) and I'm still getting unwanted emails about "Newest Local Users".

If yo have multiple accounts, or accounts that you no longer are as active in as others, you need to uncheck the areas in those accounts also.

Which would work if my old account was still active and around. I closed it when I opened this one. Today I got another email offering "newest local users" and just checked to make sure (for the fourth time) that both boxes were uncheck.

I assumed it was simply a glitch on CM's part and was trying to be patient while things were worked out.
