Status: offline 		Something else to be thankful for at this time of year. Sneaky, underhanded law enforcement types.

Feds: Somali-born teen plotted car-bombing in Ore.
PORTLAND, Ore. – Federal agents in a sting operation arrested a Somali-born teenager just as he tried blowing up a van he believed was loaded with explosives at a crowded Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Portland, authorities said.

The bomb was an elaborate fake supplied by the agents and the public was never in danger, authorities said.

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, was arrested at 5:40 p.m. Friday just after he dialed a cell phone that he thought would set off the blast but instead brought federal agents and police swooping down on him.

Status: offline 		We are either very good or very lucky...It does make you wonder how we are catching these nutcases before they kill. One of these days I'm afraid they will be successful.

We bitch and moan about wire taps and frisking procedures but any of us could of been at a holiday celebration and we or our children could have been butchered.

These are tough times and I'll give up a little privacy for the safety of my children.

Heritic, that was a hundred and fifty years or so ago!
Back when we "needed" immigration. The U.S. is a mature country now. The only immigration we need now is highly skilled, M.D.s, Nurses, Scientists etc. Letting in a million people with fifth grade educations or less who everyone knows are going to become burdens on society is assinine.
Ask Ron how well that Somalian community is doing up in Minnesotta. How much of the drug pushing business do they control now?
Remember when Clinton let in 200,000 Haitians? Most of them are still on "public assistance" and most of them in the Miami area are gang-bangers and drug dealers. Oh I'm SUUURE the govt. did thourough background checks on them,...right?
Didn't that have something to do with getting more voters for Democrats? "Citizenship a go-go" or something like that?
It's pretty bad when the Dems need to "import" voters.
Sorry but it's just not my job to "feel sorry" for countries like Haiti or Somalia. Let the idiots in D.C. "feel sorry" for them with their own money!
The idiots in D.C. think that somehow if we "feed Somalians" they won't become terrorists and hate us meanwhile they let the terrorists right into the country!
WTF kind of "thinking" is that??? Which college or uni charges people *money* to teach them how to "think" like that??? If I had kids ready to go to college I wouldn't let them anywhere *near* a school like that! "NO! You're not fucking going!"
All this "immigration", "asylum," and "refugee" crap is out-of-control!
Obama had better shit or get off the pot and do something about this. He's not even into his second year yet and many people are calling him a "one-termer."
And if one of those "refugees" kills someone's son or daughter *who* in the federal govt do they sue?

Status: offline 		Hey popeye, we don't need the scientists, doctors, and nurses.  A lot of those jobs are being outsourced (engineers, radiologists, etc.) and we already graduate too  many PhDs in the sciences.  Go check out the H1-B debates in engineering publications and you'll get an earful.

BTW, has anyone seen what age the guy was when his parents entered the country?

And we needed to get rid of those damn immigrants like McVeigh, Kaczinsky, etc.  Damn government should be sued for letting them in!
