Welcome to asynchronous warfare.  It is not surprising that people will take advantage of your weakness.

Anyone who didn't see this coming for about the last 20 years is braindead.

Russia, no big deal.  China, big deal.

pahunkboy -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 11:40:18 AM)

And now are fiat $ bails out EU.

And you think I am nuts?    Fake money bailing out other fake money.  What a joke.

Gold, Silver, Plat- all UP.    Yay---

You do realize that gold and silver have very few marketable uses, so they are comparable to the fake money you condemn.

They are only valuable because of the value we put on them.

Gold is very handy for electronics, to be fair.

pahunkboy -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 12:18:56 PM)

Actually y'all have silver in your house... but you do not know it.

http://www.roadtoroota.com/public/457.cfm   Either way- I am not worried about it. I am up over 291% since TARP.

I might have worded that poorly, what I meant to say was there are uses but those uses do not justify the current price of gold.

Moonhead -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 12:22:23 PM)

Fair enough. I think they tend to use electrum for connections rather than gold now anyway.

pahunkboy -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 12:25:44 PM)

Each bombs we send consumes 700 oz of silver.  and we are in 2 wars...

with more to come.

Moonhead -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 12:29:00 PM)

So your comment about me having silver in the house is probably untrue, as there isn't a bomb in the attic.

pahunkboy -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 12:30:24 PM)

Shall I cut and paste the whole link?

MANUFACTURERS LOVE SILVERAlthough Silver has been a monetary metal for thousands of years, since the end of WWII silver has developed into a VERY important industrial metal. The cause of this has been decades of LOW SILVER PRICES due to the demonetization of 50 Billion oz of physical silver that were once used as coinage around the world. Thousands of new electronic devices were made possible by the extraordinary conductive properties of silver and the world has greatly benefited from these inventions. Silver is so important to our future technologies that it is the metal most cited in all new US patent applications. As such, the list of industrial uses for silver is getting VERY LONG including cell phones, flat screen TV's, computers, solar technology, smart bombs, batteries, catalysts, medical applications, water purification, jet engines and the list goes on and on. The kicker is that all these applications use silver in very small amounts which means a large increase in price would not necessarily slow down Silver demand and consumption. It also means that any large scale recycling operations (other than photography) is not likely at any price. That silver is GONE and industrial users must continue to source Silver from new metal coming out of the ground.Yes, manufacturers LOVE SILVER!

Sure.

I just hope it's not from PrisonPlanet.

Shall I cut and paste you a definition of "irony" while we're stating the completely fucking obvious?

kinkbound -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 12:44:44 PM)

I believe what the narrator says about the general populace is true.

However, human behavior is subject to the same laws as any other natural phenomenon. Our customs, behaviors, and values are by products of our culture. No one is born with greed, prejudice, bigotry, patriotism and hatred; these are all learned behavior patterns. If the environment is unaltered, similar behavior will reoccur.

In other words, to continue doing the same things but expecting different results is insane.

Look at a baby passed out after sucking a tit, with milk drooling out its mouth....it is unlikely that they are not greedy.

Eating until one's belly is full should be defined as an act of greed?

mnottertail -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 1:04:36 PM)

At least gluttony then (which is a form of greed, in my estimation).  And they go past full, ask any mother with puke all over their shoulder, getting ready to go out.
