Don't fly HK. If they got it, fuck everybody else, and if they don't there is a STRONG possibility they don't want it.

I don't need no strangers lurkin round my town.

I've been to AZ, Term. Many times, actually, and even lived in Tucson for a while. It's a two-tier state. There's the retirees, who live off the trough of the govt (much like popeye), and there's the people who are trying to make a living. Many of those people are Hispanics and First nation people. They are the conquered. Do you understand? AZ ain't Cleveland. There's a Caste system in AZ, and the KenDickeys help perpetuate it.

We are wasting money on defending our laws in court.
Why don't you good people of AZ stop trying to pass laws which are contrary to the Constitution and the laws of the United States? You'd save a LOT of money, and you'd be seen as non-racist, whic would bring in a lot of tourist dollars.

Why don't you go and see how much money is brought into AZ by tourists?

Lets see, we take care of over a million "ILLEGAL"  (you know the law breakers - those that have no right to be in this country) aliens with medical care, education, etc, etc, etc and we ran out of money to take care of our legal citizens and aliens.   We pass laws to protect OUR citizens against this invasion of our borders from those that came here IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW.    You know that silly thing that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT wrote and we so generously decided to help them enforce without sending them the bill - yeah that COSTS US money too.    Then places like those in California decide that they are to good to WORK WITH AMERICANS NOT ILLEGALS decide to help us by cutting our revenue sources.   California just being one of the states that have issues with LAW ABIDING STATES.  Of course we have to defend OUR RIGHTS and WASTE MONEY.  Seems to me that the liberals that support Arizona bashing are law breakers (aiding and abetting a fugitive) but I am not a lawyer so I leave that decision to the courts.   Hmmmmm  maybe we should stop out of staters and snow birds and ask them what they support.   Fill our jails.   hmmmm  that would mean that we would turn our state into a refuge for criminals at state expense.   hmmmmmm

Is it like when an Arizonan decided that the state (all the states were doing it at the time) didn't advise him of his rights and prosecuted him.   you know   that fine Arizonan Miranda.  Yes   if I remember correctly he too was a Republican.  And he exercised his right and won.

When is the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT protect us from the expenses incurred thru NON-ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL LAW?  Then we might have the money for these programs.

There is not a caste system in this state.  There is a strong belief in the constitution, individual rights and the rights of Americans over others.  You live in AZ for a while.  Good, then you know that what you are saying isn't true.

I have 2 govt retirements and I worked for and earned them.   I even contributed to my own retirement.  I don't live off the dole.   Besides it is AGAINST THE LAW if you don't mind checking.  But you go ahead and believe what you want and SPREAD MORE HATE.  To me you are just aiding and abetting law breakers   oh a felony  feel good tooo I bet

Funny thing, other states are short of money in their budgets but THEY are not cutting medicaid benefits, which by the way are matched by the government to the tune of 60%.

What is really funny is that the Arizona governor blamed health care reform for the cuts.

Oh, she also referred to transplants as OPTIONAL procedures. I guess that is true, if you want to live it is an option.

Of course, there is the Arizona Prison system which is contracted to FOR PROFIT companies, which means that Arizona pays MORE for housing prisoners.

Yeah   Health care reform did meet the promise of both Obama and Clinton.   And what Clinton tried to do when he was in office.   MAKE CRIMINALS OUT OF THOSE THAT DON'T HAVE HEALTHCARE.   Yup,  Their promise.   straight out of their campaign sites.   oh but that don't count right.   Arizonana are for the most part against that.  not all for sure.   The Govenor is doing the people's business by supporting what her constituants want.   As for transplants being optional.   I don't know.   I am not a doctor.   I know that I believe some are.

As for paying for the privitazation of the prison system, I agree.   Government gets very short term benefits and long term costs.   When I was in Cali and they wanted to privitize where I was working, the Government would be responsible for any expenditure over $10K  That is what the contractor said, cause I asked.   About 75% of the machines cost over $10K.  The contractor was going to cut the maintenance staff which would reduce maintenance which would increase replacement costs which are at government expense.   simple math.  WE employees sat down and computed out the costs of us doing it vs the contractor and we saved $15 million a year over the contractor after 5 years.   Oh  did I tell you, the contractor cut maintenance staff and hired lawyers instead.  They were to look at every single job ticket and decide if it was covered in the contract and if not bill it, with a nice profit margin, to the government as a change order.

Where would you draw the line between who gets saved and who dies?

Nobody is saved, everyone dies.Be it from lack of medical care to some moron driving drunk.

The argument is stupid to begin with, nobody survives life, and life isn't fair.

This is exactly the attitude that pisses me off about so many conservatives.

They don't care about anyone other than those that directly affect their own lives.

You believe some transplants are optional?

How are you defining optional?

As far as I know, if you are in a situation where you need a transplant that means you are going to die if you do not receive it.

mnottertail -> RE: Republican Death Panels (12/4/2010 7:45:21 AM)

Death and taxes are not optional.

Musicmystery -> RE: Republican Death Panels (12/4/2010 7:53:02 AM)

Try telling that to Republicans.

Examples would ne nice. As far as i know, from a medical standpoint, i would find it highly doubtful that any state run system would pay for an "optional" transplant, dont you? Sorta hard to make me believe a liver, set of lungs, bone marrow, heart or even kidneys are optional.

THELADY -> RE: Republican Death Panels (12/4/2010 10:27:30 AM)

well.... apparently a lot of people do not keep up with what it happening unless it happens right under their nose.

on the campain trail, during a debate, Obama said his grandma should not have gotten a hip replacement when she only had a year to live. he said sometimes its better to "just give them the blue pill"

sept 26, 07 at AU Berkley, Robert Reich, former clinton labor sect. and Obama economic advisor said we are going to have to have (death panels) for the very old......we are not going to give them the techonology and all those drugs....they are expensive.

a few sundays ago, I think it was nov.7th Paul Krugman was on 'This week' on ABC said the only way to make the health care bill work was to use death (edited to add) 'panels' and a vat tax.

the vat tax...a 20% tax on produts...so that t.v. for a thousand that you now pay 1080 for with tax will cost 1280.

when comapred all the private insurance co.'s turn down 7 to 10% of requested proceedures, one co., turns down 14% and medicade/care turns down 40%......40%!!!

are there truly people who believe the govt is going to do better? or believe this is going to be free? are there people who believe that only the poor will be turned down?

and now...its all republicans fault.

That's sales tax, not a VAT, a Value Added Tax, which is assessed at production--not at retail.

It will raise the wholesale price of an item, and likely the retail, assuming elasticity of demand will allow it, by not by 20% of the retail price, or even 20% of the wholesale price, but rather 20% of the value added to the raw materials by production.

A hip replacement for an elderly woman is not equivalent to a heart transplant or liver transplant for a 30 year old.

Did you bother to read the link?

Here, let me help:

Francisco Felix, 32, a father of four who has hepatitis C and is in need of a liver, received news a few weeks ago that a family friend was dying and wanted to donate her liver to him. But the budget cuts meant he no longer qualified for a state-financed transplant.

.............If the Legislature does decide to reconsider the cuts, one of the affected people, a plumber and father of three named Randy Shepherd, 36, who has an ailing heart and needs a transplant, plans to attend the debate.

Provide a link, otherwise it's just considered bullshit.

And no, I'm not going to look it up on my own.

You posted it, you prove it.

Oh Rule... you are gonna love this one. You should have looked it up, you would have gotten the laugh i got. roflmfao

But, do take time to follow the trail. Here is the link the Palin website based their article upon.

http://www.verumserum.com/?p=9040

And Reich's response to that article

http://www.verumserum.com/?p=9278

Seriously... this is funny stuff!

rulemylife -> RE: Republican Death Panels (12/4/2010 12:01:32 PM)

What I find funny is that all your links were posted more than two years after his initial speech, long after the death panel lie was debunked.

Yet it keeps getting repeated another year later.

That's another thing I love about conservatives, their persistence, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary they know what the real truth is.

Edited to add that I wasn't referring to you as a conservative, I was agreeing with you.

I reread it and realized my wording was a little confusing.

"Of course, there is the Arizona Prison system which is contracted to FOR PROFIT companies, which means that Arizona pays MORE for housing prisoners."

Your conclusion is totally unsupported.
