Status: offline 		While doing some searching on pain the other day I ran across an interesting article that basically said that people of different hair color feel pain differently. That led me to some other sites on how our hair color supposedly affects or defines us. Now I know that we all know of the stereotypical things that get said about different hair colors, but I am wondering how much stock anyone really puts in it.

Does hair color make a difference in your choice of mate and if so why, other than just liking the way it looks? Do you believe that people of different hair color have different personalities...different traits that most people of a certain hair color share? Make them more/less submissive/Dominant?

I'm a red head and I guess I was a bit shocked by just how much I fit into the description they offered of the typical red head personality. Or maybe it's just because I'm a Leo...or a combination of the two...but it said that I am supposed to be fiery and live my life passionately, and yeah...that pretty much fits.

Teasing of course....I know Red heads are fiery and I love them, but the hair color does not really matter to me at all.
I just wish they all could be California girls!

Status: offline 		wow...thats pretty cool...and i have never thought about it before...i am a red head as well (its a dark red/auburn color) and i am submissive....i do however have fiery personality and live my life passionately....i will have to look into these sites!!  interesting post!

Status: offline 		There have been quite a few medical studies done on pain tolerance in redheads. I myself am a redhead. They stated that they found that redheaded women had a higher tolerance for pain than any other hair color and required less anesthetic (sp?) than normal. They also stated that these findings did not apply to redheaded men. Now I don't know how that applies to Dominance or submission, but I do have to say that I am also very firey and passionate and have more than once been called a pain in the ass.

Status: offline 		Still searching for the article...wish I could remember what the heck my search criteria was exactly when I found it (wonder if that means redheds are prone to short term memory loss?). This link you posted though windchymes is awesome and answers alot of questions for me....I didn't come across this one in my search. Thanks.

Anyway...I know that some men prefer only certain hair colors on their women. I have even gotten a few emails from men that have said "Wonderful profile but sorry, I don't date redheads". Just wondering if people really believe that hair color makes a difference. As for the original article, I do remember that it was based on natural hair color, but it also said that changing to a new hair color could "flavor" your personality a bit differently.

Status: offline 		Wife/exwife is a redhead.  Birthed both our ten pound babies without pain medication.  She happens to be an angry, tempermental, and aggressive person.

I do know that redheads bleed more during operations, childbirth, etc.  This is a fairly accepted fact in the medical community.  I don't happen to know much about it, though, including why that's the case.

Status: offline 		The same study was in the English press this week and it did say red heads felt pain more. It also referenced the important issue of medicine being directed at the right kind of people in the right kind of way - a lot of it is developed for adults and then given to children or for men and given to women or even there's the issue of some races being more susceptible to certain conditions. Yet the other person above said red heads are supposed to feel LESS pain. So goodness knows who is right.

I am afraid I am yet another sub with red/auburn hair.... and I am not good with pain and not masochistic....ouch.

Status: offline 		I have some natural red highlights to my hair depending on the time of the year. We can change our hair colour though, and some people have red hair at birth then it changes colour as they age.

I thinks its about temperment and expereince that really has an effect and dictates who we 'are;' not the colour of our hair.

Well IronBear...for YOU I would call all my girlfriends and most likely could arrange for all of the physical wishes on your list (well ok, the virgin thng might be tough but maybe not impossible). I believe you already have a damn fine sense of humor. As for the patience of Job...well my dear...on that one I'm afraid you are on your own. Patience has NEVER been my forte so I wouldn't have a clue as to where to begin finding you that one!!!
