cuckoldmepls -> Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 8:21:22 AM)

It's called the Supreme court, and liberals and democrats have continued to make abortion legal by nominating and confirming activist judges who ignore the constitution, and have killed hundreds of millions of unborn children. There is nothing in the Constitution that gives a woman the right to kill an unborn child.

By the way, I only posted this because someone had the audacity to post a topic heading republican death panels. If a moderator wants to delete both threads, no complaints here.

Lucylastic -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 8:22:29 AM)

there is nothing in the constitution that bans it either

So you are outside everyday at your local Planned Parenthood offering monetary assistance to those who can't afford a child or to those that need help to keep the family. I see....sure. [:'(]

You do realize that conservatives outnumber liberals on the Supreme Court.

hertz -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 8:28:33 AM)

Is it even possible to 'kill' an unborn child? Surely that's a bit like eating an unmade cake?

RacerJim -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 8:37:47 AM)

There is also nothing in the U.S. Constitution which allows the Federal government to pay for abortions with tax-payer dollars. quite the opposite in fact.

mnottertail -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 8:40:28 AM)

and that happens where?

Lucylastic -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 8:44:01 AM)

is abortion mentioned in the constitution at all?
anywhere?

Well, first, the federal government doesn't do this.

Second, we do MANY things not explicitly "allowed" in the Constitution, as that's not the function of a set of guiding principles. It's why we have laws, and yes, Congress gets to make those laws, explicitly by the Constitution, and the Supreme Court gets the final say--per the Constitution.

Oh come on. That thread was obviously in response to Palin's whine about imaginary death panels in the health care bill.

It's the old anti-health care warning, "We'll have to ration health care!"

But we ration it NOW--we give it to those who can pay.

EVERYTHING in an economy is "rationed" -- scarcity is one of the basic economic premises.

Good, now we are getting down to facts.

Show me where in the Constitution that it says "quite the opposite".

Only in conservative fantasy land.

subrob1967 -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 10:02:57 AM)

You can't live life, or pursue happiness if you're dead...Just sayin'

mnottertail -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 10:04:39 AM)

Then why do republicans want death panels?

No. Which is why the federal government should not have any say in the matter and the matter should be left to the state governments.

tazzygirl -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 9:10:29 PM)

So you want all the states to come up with their own laws regarding an issue that women had to fight for for years. Didnt we have that fight over slavery?

Uhh, Cucko? You do understand that the Constitution is the People giving rights to government, not the other way around, right? Kind of a core conservative principle there.

Since you understand that, why don't you tell us where the Constitution has given government the right to dictate what goes on in the wombs of the People?

Brain -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/6/2010 11:16:29 PM)

Go ahead, make my day, I would love to see a conservative Supreme Court make abortion illegal. Republicans would be destroyed in future elections and that's why they will never do it.

Doesn't say nutt'n bout drinking and driving either, damn activist judges...now where did I put my flask, it's hard enough to drive while loading my shotgun

GayConservative -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/7/2010 12:45:51 AM)

You commies will rue the day you trampled on the constitution.

This kind of taxation.  These ridiculous "welfare" programs.  They are perversions.  The founding fathers never intended these kinds of things.

Where exactly in the Constitution does it say that the Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes?  Where does it say that the Congress shall have the power to provide for the general welfare of the United States?  Where does it say that the Congress shall have the power to to borrow money on the credit of the United States?

NOWHERE.

If any of you had actually READ the Constitution, you would know that these things are contained nowhere in the original document.  Instead, you just blindly believe whatever your pundit Gods like Commie Kieth Olbermann and Commie Rachel Maddow tell you.

tazzygirl -> RE: Democrat Death Panels (12/7/2010 5:57:56 AM)

Taxes is in the 16th Amendment.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

Amending the Constitution is in Article 5 of the Constitution.

The Constitution is, perhaps, the greatest written bit of law ever. It was designed to be a living guildline with the ability to grow as the country grew.

Amazing how people like you have never bothered to read it.
