Yet?

I'm debating on it - a lot of my guildmates don't play (either at all, or just WoW), but I'm also getting bored with my current collection of games (Black Ops, Left 4 Dead 2, Call of Duty 4, MOH:2010, and a few others)

Cataclysm is up and running.  There was a little trouble logging on at first because everyone was jumping on when the time hit.  It seems fine now.

If you need a new game, DDO is free to play... just sayin'.

I figured it'd be getting hammered.

I just got my first bugged quest of the night - Call of Duty, I'm at the point where I get dumped off the ship, but now im stuck underwater, lol

My nephew got it for me for my birthday. It's supposed to be here today. Most of our guild have gotten sick of it, but are looking forward to the changes to see if it adds new life to the game. In the mean time they are playing call of duty.

Honestly, between getting a bit bored with CoD, and the buggy game play, I'm sorta turned off to playing it.

The zombie mode & dead ops arcade was nice, but online MP was buggy as hell: I (and many others) get grapical stuttering - short half second freezes every 10 seconds or so, hit registration was off (I could dump a full clip in someone and - and see hit markers - yet, they live to fight another day)

Hopefully they'll patch these issues, but still, I'd rather not pay 60 bucks to beta test a game.

What server do you play on?

How is it? Do you play? If so, how long?

I've had some pretty.... rugged... experiences with the free online games - Combat Arms was the last one I played, and there were aimbotters & cheaters galore, not to mention the quality control was non-existant.

Kitten and I both play, have been for about six weeks now. It's not precisely a free online game in the same sense as America's Army or Farmville... Free-to-Play is a play mode created by Turbine, Inc (who runs both DDO & LOTRO, which we also play) that lets you play through a goodly bit of the storyline of the game without any charge and offers the option of, in DDO's case, adventure packs that expand your playable areas. It's pretty difficult to cheat in DDO, given that it's a for-profit MMO.

How's the gameplay? Is there a lot of grinding involved? or do the advancements come along fluidly?

My human warlock will be able to deal with that.  Not so sure about the night elf.

I have to agree with thishereboi.  Except for ICC, pre-Cata, once you got 80 and your gear, there wasn't a heck of a lot that was interesting.  I'd gotten rather bored with My eighties and started a paladin just for fun because there just wasn't much for My maxed toons to do do.  I'm glad to know this will change that.

I have toons on Bleeding Hollow, the Scyers and a few low ones on Medivah. Play mostly horde but I have alli guys too. I have a report due tomorrow morning and finals coming up, so I am not sure how much playing I will do until that is over.

Yeah, I know what you & thishereboi are saying. I was so bent on hitting 80, once I did, the only thing left was raids. But by that time everyone I knew that played was getting burned out on it. It got pretty boring to run instances to get the medallions, just to turn em in for gear though.

I just started a new character (fem worgen lol) - been curious about the new classes and figured I'll give it a whirl.

I mostly play Eve and City of Heroes and tried DDO for something to do when my friends aren't online. I found the free to play areas to be very limited after 3rd level and the grind to even get to third was pretty bad. I personally would look elsewhere for a free to play MMO.

I tried CoH/V for a month or so, but I couldn't get into it. I think it was the "comic book" aspect of it that didn't do it for me. To me, elves, dwarves, trolls, goblins, etc are more realistic (in a warped sorta way) than comic book heroes/heroines.

Whoa, me too. I've only played Alliance though. I do have a Taurean Hunter on another server, but I haven't logged into that one in ages (Used to play with Ms Starlett)

If you didn't pick up the quest from the member of the Earthen Ring that's located in SW, that could be why you have the bug.  You need that quest to start the chain in the sunken boat anyhow.  Much easier now that you can fly straight across the city.  Take the ship again and let the tentacles toss you back in the ocean.  A member of the undersea crew will "save" you and take you under to the sunken ship.

That is the only advice you'll ever get from Me regarding WOW.  I'm usually the last person to figure these things out.

Yeah, thats exactly where I'm at. But my toon can't move, swim, or nothing. If I try to attack, it's like the game suddenly realized I was underwater, and my breath meter shows up with || much air left, lol.

Usually I would be looking at people strange, but I am used to play Warcraft (1&2) and Unreal Tourney.  My former partner was CoD, MOH, and others that I can't remember (I forget Elder Scrolls 4).

Now, I prefer Runescape (blame my daughter).

I might get WoW but to me it is expensive.

Greetings all....

I started the new races, Goblin then Worgan. I figured I would see those first then start the leveling up with my 80's and let the blundering multitudes clear a path for me so I have a bit more space for leveling up in the new content. Then there is old world flying. That is also high on my list of must haves. I get that tonight and explore a bit.

Blade's Edge and Draka.

Be well....

Malkinius

I declared a "gaming day" yesterday and spent beaucoup hours running up a Worgen character (read werewold).

Cataclysm made for some serious changes in areas and in the game play. Some are good, some are irritating.

I got hooked on WoW about a year ago when I was down with the N1N1 virus and couldn't do much of anything for a month.. email for a free month of WoW.. they hooked me.
