ID's are now needed to purchase money orders at CVS. Not sure about other places. ID's........ Just one of those things we are mandated to purchase, but, we arent mandated to purchase. [;)]

There's been a heated discussion at a craft site because other countries are now charging a $9 surcharge to ship packages to the US. They are saying it's to pay for our increased security precautions and the posters are ticked that they have to pay for our security issues. I'm all for security, but the changes seem to affect us and don't seem to deter the criminals anyway.

Again- many here have no line- and this is how the ovens were confused as showers.

Yep UPS is responsiible for rounding up the entire world that uses their service for the showers That must be it, there is no other expanation I guess that means you wont be sending me a parcel for christmas Hunky??? Le sigh

Working in the homeless shelter- some of these folks have no papers... NONE. It is almost impossible to GET them their papers. Each ID needs the other ID- it can take months. I seen this a dozen times in the past few years. Just because you have your papers right now- don't presume you will tomorrow, next week, or next month.

So, what sort of mercantile traffic is ongoing at the homeless shelter between Fedex and the homeless power elite that is causing this breakdown due to lack of ID? Can you quantify that for us in some dollar amount, perhaps in baht or dubloons, if more convienient?

I would say that the need of fedex worldwide for the homeless is less than ten dollars a year.

Homeless people have a great deal of haberdashery that they need to get out of the state posthaste when they come in the door do they? Seems to me they could mail it, I doubt it would rend the fabric of space-time if a torn pair of jeans absolutely positively wasnt there overnight.

I live on a busy street. I require each vehicle that passes my house- to provide me with a photo ID. If not- they may not pass my house. This is for everyone's safety of course. Same thing to anyone who drops off a package-- the clerk at the store- the clerk at the gas station- the bank teller- I need to be safe. Even at church- I require all those who sit in my same pew to present a state issued ID- as someone might have bad intentions.

You might be surprised at the ordinary people who end up there. Fire, divorces, death in family, job loss, eviction, they are not all trashy people- just down on their luck. (a good portion of them)

Dude, I am aware of homeless shelters and what goes on there, and I cant for the life of me see why they need ID for UPS. I have some slight idea of why they need ID for real life shit, but not to send clothes to Ohio or Delaware.
