Why do I want to buy more cheap junk from China?

I don't.    It can wait- maybe someone will make quality printers.

THere is no such thing as an american made printer... so you maybe waiting a long time

Indeed so.

And there are plenty of "quality printers" out there. I've only just replaced my old (inexpensive) Canon inkjet (with another Canon inkjet) after 4 years of very heavy usage.

Methinks it's probably user error.

Pretty much everything technology related is these days. The Chinese (and a few other Asian countries) don't bother so much with those tiresome Health & Safety laws, plus they pay their people buttons, so they can make stuff much more cheaply. It's got to the point now where ink jets like my Canon are sold at a loss on the machine, clawing back the money on the consumables like the ink cartridges. And yet the build quality is amazing*.

* tenner says my printer bails in the next day

Dead right on everything else, though. The reason I suggested medication boy looks for a Diconix is because that's an old printer Kodak produced back when they were still manufacturing stuff in the 'States.

I have three dot matrix printers going back to 1990
I still have commodores, ataris and amigas? a 286, a 386 and five and a half inch floppy drives...
what is your point?
you are the one bitching about not having a printer, not I.
I print my labels I also hand write them.

Then she needs to make a copy of this.

Unless she can- then said printer is as good as a door stop. It fails to function. Which is what I have  x 5.

The proof is in the copy.  The printed copy.

See how convoluted this printer that "works"  is?
If it truly works - then fine- but it "might work if 123, XYZ"  which is quite different then a printer which works right now.
