As several have states already. The lady indeed did a very noble and heroic task, and should be honored! The Nobel Prize committe is only one of several groups around the world. The rules of the prize is such, that only one person can be the winner. In my local area, I'm part of a volunteer group that raises money and gives it for community projects. One such project, is a yearly award for scholarships for high school seniors going on to college. We have a set dollar amount, and a set amount of awards to be given, BEFORE, we see the list. The lists have never been under 100. We have a strict criteria to follow (and no, I wont give that out), in our decision making. We argue for certain names, that we feel, fit the criteria more then others. In all honestly, if we had the money, all those kids would recieve the scholarship. One to three will just 'stand out' in the crowd, and those make the decision making easier, but the rest, is really hard. Could it be, that the Nobel Prize Committee was in a similar (if more important) position. Instead of having 100 or so high school students, they have individuals from around the world, that simply defy the odds. Trying to pick one canidate from that list must be extremely tough. And if they could, they'd give awards to each and everyone of those canidates; but the rules have to be followed: only one can win. Among conservatives, I believe the anger and hatred is because none of the people in their philosophy have a prayer of winning. That, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and others, should be honored for their fight against that Socialist, liberal, vile, Communist, dictator, tree-hugging, Facists, black-promiting, Democrat, President, we have. There is no rule, that states, conservatives couldn't create their own committee; just that no one outside of their tiny little philosophy will take it seriously.
