Just curious here. Do you support websites like Wikileaks and it's contributors? Please let's take out the politics and personal like or dislike based on Julians charges.
This is multiple.

There has been a whole thread so i will only say If I had a child in the military right now i would like to twist his balls off.

I think that he has released some things that needed to be released. I also think his arrest was retribution.

kdsub -> RE: Do you support? (12/15/2010 8:01:07 PM)

Like what?

TheHeretic -> RE: Do you support? (12/15/2010 8:04:51 PM)

If convicted, and his chatroom confessions should help with that, Manning should never see the sky again.

As for Assange, I'm waiting for someplace like Yemen or Saudi Arabia to declare that his disclosures violate their version of the National Security Act, and demand he be extradited to face justice there.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 6:54:59 AM)

PFC Manning should bear the brunt of any criminal charges. If you are going to blow a whistle at least know what you are blowing the whistle on. He didn't. Just a dump of data and communication....

KenDckey -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 7:26:55 AM)

The release of classified materials without proper authorization is a major offense, with the potential of causing needless death and destruction.  PFC Manning after the 15-6 investigation and the Article 32 hearing should in my opinion be put away for the maximum allowable under the UCMJ.

I would like to see a surgical strike against wikileaks.  I think more than one country would support it.   And I think it should have been done before the information was made public.  but since they made it public, I wonder how many countries have a desire to get their hands on Julian.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 7:32:29 AM)

Why wikileaks? He didn't download the information. He should use caution which he has to some extent and did it to make money....which is the American way.....I don't see his fault in this.

Icarys -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 7:41:56 AM)

I think both of them are heroes. I wonder why on a forum, that talks about everything under the sun when it comes to politics especially, so many are silent. Either for or against.

Maybe I'm using the wrong search string but not a whole lot, that I've seen, has been brought up and this is all over the news, worldwide.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 7:44:09 AM)

Naw, Manning isn't a hero. He is simply an opportunist. If he knew what he was downloading then I could see it. Assange was just trying to line his pockets...No hero's here

What proof do you have about any of that?

DomYngBlk -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 8:00:24 AM)

Manning? Did he utter a word saying what parts of what he downloaded were an issue? By all accounts he simply downloaded a large amount of material and then let assange know that he had it. Assange is a business man. Dont' assign sainthood to him. If he simply wanted to get the information out he would have distrbuted it straight away to any and all sources. But he didn't do that did he. He got paid.

This is news to me. I've been following this somewhat closely and haven't seen anything that would support that. Can you provide links to this or is this just an opinion in some way?

On that note..Even if he did (Not placing sainthood..Hero is a far cry from sainthood to me) I still think he's a hero for taking the chance.

Not sure if anyone has seen this yet but I stumbled upon it today.

Wanted to add something. PFC Manning stated that he didn't have faith in journalists these days, that's why he decided to go outside of the US. (I'll see if I can find the link)

DomYngBlk -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 9:09:57 AM)

Just an opinion. But, I am assuming he has to eat. That Wiki is his pride and joy and meal ticket. If not, then I stand corrected. But, I assume the sweepstakes he had with all the major news outlets wasn't to see who wanted to go to press with it. Someone paid for the material. He gets credit for taking the chance.......I will give him that. I don't find fault or praise outside of that with Assange.

PFC? He didn't even bother to read what he had. Nuf said

Fair enough on Assange. I do think though we could say the same things about any other journalist. They too have to eat and do this as a job as well. Making money on something in the line of work, whether it be a salary/freelance at the Washington post isn't something that should be worried about.

PFC not reading what was there? I can see he wouldn't have time to do it while downloading..He's not doing it as far as I know in private. I do think this next link (If it's true) shows that he did actually read it..at least some of it.

There is a ten page thread on this board called Wikileaks.

I think everyone is pretty talked out on the subject, but I did vote in your poll.

I guess I expected to see more on it.

Thank you for your participation in the poll.

No politics...I don't support it.  If his actions are shown to be provocative of any action taken by any nation anywhere against others that causes harm, he should be brought to trial.

hertz -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 1:48:37 PM)

I support Wikileaks and Manning. If something is right, it's right. Simple as that.

Icarys -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 2:41:35 PM)

My opinion is along the same line as this. It works great for government whistle-blowing.
