This.

It makes me laugh when people say that Wikileaks is dangerous because the publication of 'secrets' endangers lives. For my money, all the back-handers, secret rendition flights, unadmitted torture, funding of criminals and terrorists and so on that are carried out in our name by our respective governments are much more dangerous than anything Wikileaks can throw at us. Call me old-fashioned, but I really want honesty in politics. Wikileaks can help towards this end.

That and I think some people seem to miss/forget/ignore the fact that if Wikileaks had dropped some of this info off prior to war..It may have stopped us from going..Hopefully it will give us pause the next time our "leaders" start talking about the next war. That and if they hadn't lied and scammed America into going to war in the first place so many American lives would never had been lost to begin with.

If they operated in better/righteous ways...They'd have little to hide...I understand the need for secrecy to a degree but to the point where they get away with lying to the public to get what they want..It then becomes paramount for it to be brought into the light.

kdsub -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 2:57:41 PM)

What would have stooped us from going to war?

Didn't say it would..I said might.

If we had known by whistle-blowing that the WMD  was a lie.
If we had known that Bush had been given a brief on a terrorist plot pre-911 while he was on vacation but chose to go back to his vacation and that it had been circulated throughout several intelligence agencies by way of joint efforts.
http://www.rense.com/general25/expb.htm (Many more links exposing this.)
If we had actual transparency instead of empty words from our government.

We might not have went to war.

This isn't about Bush nor about 911 so other than to give you an answer..That's all I'll discuss since it's off topic for me....It just happened in his administration.

Jaybeee -> RE: Do you support? (12/16/2010 4:28:50 PM)

Un-equi-vo-call-y support Wikileaks, Julian and everyone who made it possible. They pulled the pants down of those in power.

Let their dicks dangle in the wind for all to see.

First how are you going to prove they knew there were no WMD? Was that released by wikifreaks?

Do you have any idea how many briefs a President has...how many false alerts have we had... he did not know the particulars so how was he to stop the attack... was that in wikifreaks?

So you think it is possible to carry on world politics with all discussions in the open? Do we have control over what is said to us? Don't you see the need for privacy until agreements are finalized... Are all your business dealings in the open… are you that naive?

Come on what did wikifreaks leak that did anything but makes things worse and put my grandson in danger... the assholes.

My opinion is along the same line as this. It works great for government whistle-blowing.

With you 100% Icarys. The major players are embarrassed by their own leaks and are fear mongering per norm and the masses are eating it up. Julian Assange is a revolutionary.

I hope you mean that in the bad way, Aynne, as in, "the fucker needs to hang!" or my opinion of you is going down several notches.

Did he not say he thought they had WMD? Now you prove he knew they did not have WMD before the invasion of Iraq...was that leaked by wikifreaks

Your the one that brought WMD not me so prove it was a lie and what it has to do with wikifreaks...Or do you like making things up as well….Maybe you wish it was that way because of your bias.

I don't need to prove anything..Why don't YOU take the time to research it. I have to my own satisfaction.

That as far as I'll discuss it with you.

kdsub -> RE: Do you support? (12/17/2010 1:02:46 PM)

Our argument has nothing to do with wikifreaks but did the article not say the information was from the Iraq foreign minister? Can’t you see where information from that source would be suspect? If not then you are not thinking straight. The Director did not bring it up again…could that be because he did not believe it creditable either?

Damn use your brain …but I can see we will not agree and of course I respect your right to disagree…[:D] sorta

I don't feel inclined to go through all of the news footage and sort through all of the links to show you the time-line of where the lie A: started B: He admitted to it.

It's all over the net..it was all over the news..this isn't speculation. They've admitted it. If you refuse to take the time to educate yourself that is your prerogative.

Now this is off topic so please start a new thread.

Total BS.

Icarys -> RE: Do you support? (12/17/2010 3:24:23 PM)

Start a new thread but first go read a little more because you're going to look silly. You might want to rethink that..I doubt you will because of the way you act but it might be a good idea on both points.

Icarys -> RE: Do you support? (12/17/2010 8:25:47 PM)

Why was this moved? Can we not start polls in the politics area or is this some sort of personal statement by an admin?
