HeathenMa1am -> what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/15/2010 7:31:01 PM)

I'm a female dominant and I was just approached about financial domination. Not the tribute paying variety but the kind where the dominant controls the assets. It's not something I was actively seeking on this site, but I think I'd probably enjoy it and be good at it.

In the real world, I provide business services and I am actually fully qualified to be a financial manager. Vanilla financial managers take a fee or percentage for their own use, so I can see this as a pretty standard business model with a twist, like the Hooters restaurant and the stripper car wash: domina asset management. Enforcing a disciplined lifestyle with saving and investing (which I'm good at in my own life; the last time I had the kind of job where I made a guaranteed monthly income, I saved half of it plus put away 10% in a 401k even though I made less than 30k a year after taxes), just like a vanilla financial manager but also providing sexy stories about what I do with my percentage, like going out to nightclubs with hot lesbians.

Just checking, though: is there anything I need to know about this kind of arrangement that I would not already know from being a person who sells bookkeeping, corporate presence, and Registered Agent services in my vanilla life? Am I going to run afoul of some law or other? Do I need a license?

Should I be worried because the person who sent me the message doesn't have an active profile that I can view?

I always envisioned that I would do asset management for whatever sub I eventually decide to make mine. I believe a good dominant cares for and takes care of her sub just like a cowboy cares for and takes care of his horse. This is the first time I've considered just doing the management without also dating the person, though.

Well, I would make sure my liability coverage is current for sure...lol.

Truthfully, it would be hard for me to take it seriously.

I wouldn't be considering his offer if I hadn't just spent the last two weeks since signing up with the company that I'm trying to sell business services for in attempting to get my mom's friend's son to buy an incorporation for his business from me so I can get a commission, and going to business networking meetings where all the people I'm trying to sell stuff to are also trying to sell things to me and none of us have any money, in the meantime trying to find a "real job" and being offered endless "business opportunities" instead. At this point, ridiculous as it sounds, I'm starting to think I could make a more reliable living selling my novel.

If I keep grasping at all these straws, sooner or later one of them will spin itself into gold, right?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/15/2010 8:11:24 PM)

I am a person with all that street cred to be a financial manager too.

I have had offers of the kind you have---and when the rubber hits the road, they DISAPPEAR. Because guess what? I am a person with credentials! So Mr Sub and I are entering into a binding contract, complete with engagement letter, description of services and expectations, etc etc. There is NO WAY I would let myself get busted for failing in fiduciary duty to satisfy someone's kink. Sure, I'll count your shekels and keep you on an allowance AFTER the legals are done.

Real life can be So unromantic! [:D]

I'm doing a little diversifying myself, so I can feel a little of what you mean. And that's the way to look at it.....if you throw enough cooked spaghetti against the wall, something will stick.

Keeping the faith is good :). Having positive expectations is the only way to go. Good luck to you

Kana -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/15/2010 8:20:25 PM)

I'm not positive, but in many states you have to have some sort of licensing to give financial advice if you charge for it.
Some common tests include series 7,63, 65 and 66 and for most of those, you need to be sponsored in by a corporation.

HeathenMa1am -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/15/2010 8:29:54 PM)

Ah, I see. So the guys aren't really after real domination-- meaning I make the decisions I think are best for them. They want to be exploited. Well, if the guy writes back to me after I told him that my goal in managing his assets would be for him to come out ahead, then we'll see if he really wants to be dominated or just exploited.

thanks annie, I'm keeping on keeping on.

thanks kana, I'll check on those.

Check on the State laws. Don't wanna get tripped up and accused of being Maddoff light or anything.

HeathenMa1am -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/15/2010 8:43:07 PM)

thanks kana, just checked those out. So it looks like I would need to take one of those tests, probably 65 as that's the one that was identified as being the one that accountants and others providing financial services would take in order to also be able to provide investment advice, if I wanted to manage assets that including stock holdings.

Kana -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/15/2010 8:47:55 PM)

Yeah, I thought the 65 or 66 is pretty much a standard. There may be education or sponsorship requirements so read the fine print closely. Trust me on this, the only breed more nit-picky than lawyers are accountants.

RedWinter -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/15/2010 11:28:19 PM)

As an accountant I would have to agree with that. ;)

LadyConstanze -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/16/2010 1:00:42 PM)

FR

I don't think you need to worry about him, they love to talk about the idea but the moment they'd have to pay they disappear.

I've been joking with a few female friends around here that it's hilarious, if you block them they come back with another name, but if you pretend you charge, they disappear all by themselves!

LaTigresse -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/16/2010 1:44:30 PM)

Every state is different to a degree on the laws for what is required. Here in Iowa, things have gotten A LOT more stringent for good reason. To be a licensed financial advisor, someone I know, just spent the better part of 6 months studying and paying a fairly hefty sum of money, then testing and spending more money to get their series 6 and 6-3. He has to carry E and O insurance. He had to submit to a personal investigation. And has to maintain his continuing education, along with paying annual fees. His next goal is Series 7. That will be even more difficult and costly.

It isn't a piece of cake. But.......if I am going to get financial advise that I can trust, I would hope to god the person giving the advise, is someone like him.

Cripes, I have degrees in law & accounting. Pity my poor slave.

allthatjaz -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/17/2010 1:16:02 AM)

I agree with those who say it won't come off. I worked as a pro Mistress for years and one of my earliest lessons was, don't ever take a sub who wants to feel exploited seriously. He will be presently getting off on the idea and will keep you talking and arranging things as long as possible but when you reach the point where your ready, he will be ready to disappear. Don't let him waste anymore of your time.

DMFParadox -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/17/2010 6:37:45 AM)

Brilliant!

Though I'd repackage it more as "Sex-fueled Financial Management" and try the mass market. I can think of plenty of folks who'd do that, but wouldn't go for 'financial domination'; bigger market, but same activities under a different name.

HeathenMa1am -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/20/2010 11:15:42 AM)

thanks everyone!

just when I start to get all excited about discovering a new kink I didn't know I had, poof there he goes. weird, though. he said he just wanted financial domination, then emailed me a full on slave contract, and when I replied that was a deeper relationship and I'd have to get to know him better and let's exchange pictures, then he disappeared. shakes head.

LaTigresse -> RE: what do I need to know about financial domination? (12/20/2010 12:11:18 PM)

Based upon what I've read on here......... not weird at all. More the norm actually.
