Ok, you got me. How far would those left loons have taken you? Have you been cucked yet?

mnottertail -> RE: Fox News is detrimental to your intelligence (12/16/2010 7:42:50 AM)

William F Buckley's firing line was on NPR and public tv for many many years, now are you telling me old Bill (rip) was a rino?

cuckoldmepls -> RE: Fox News is detrimental to your intelligence (12/16/2010 7:54:48 AM)

I'll explain these results to you but I don't think you will be able to comprehend it. Remember, when a republican senator wanted to increase the down payments for government backed mortgages to help ensure that people who were being financed could actually afford to buy a home, and Senator Dodd said, 'if we did that, then people couldn't afford to buy homes." Most of you couldn't comprehend that, and sided with Dodd. Well here's why the results were skewed aganist viewers of FOX news.

When people are asked questions about issues, they already know whether they are against or for it based on whether it is constitutionally authorized, if it's another welfare program or if it creates more government jobs. So if a question includes something that a person wasn't aware of, then they will give a false response, even though if the question had been phrased another way without the trick clause in it, then the response would have been correct.

This survey was obviously designed that way, and since the liberals supported all these plans including the stimulas package, and the bailouts, their response would have been influenced by their already made up minds. Thus, if their question asked whether the stimulas package had any tax cuts in it, obviously they would have said yes just by guessing, and conservatives would have said no, just by guessing.

All they had to do was include one trick fact, and it made conservatives look like they were uninformed, despite the fact that conservatives have very good, sound financial reasons for not supporting these plans.

Remember, we are $13 trillion in debt. Conservatives are obviously right on the Constitution, limited federal government, and deficit spending.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Fox News is detrimental to your intelligence (12/16/2010 7:57:37 AM)

Whats wrong with deficit spending?

It is irresponsibly premature to accuse the conservatives (rinos, republicans, neo-cons, and nutsuckers) of fiscal responsibility now or at some future time; simultaneously, it is irresponsibly inaccurate to accuse them of fiscal responsibility in the past.

See that's what I"m talking about. You asked what is wrong with deficit spending? Liberals see nothing wrong with it, but the fact is that the more debt we accumulate the more interest we have to pay on it. We will soon be paying half a trillion in interest on the national debt each year. Now if true conservatives had been in charge for the past 50 years, there would be no national debt, and each state would have an extra $10 billion annually.

There was a senator on  tv just yesterday, who was screaming that by ending the bush tax cuts we would have to borrow more money from China to cover the budget. That is true, but it is also true, that no matter how much money we give Congress, they will want more. As John Boehner said, "Congress doesn't have a revenue problem, they have a spending problem."

DomYngBlk -> RE: Fox News is detrimental to your intelligence (12/16/2010 8:15:23 AM)

Well lets do this. Lets tell China that we won't stop any shipments of products from shanghai to LA in return for no interest on outstanding debt. ........Viola......no more increased interest payments.

Here you go Mr. Comprehension, the entire survey including the questions that were asked.

Why don't you go through it and show us those trick clauses and trick facts.

Dick Cheney a liberal, who would have guessed that?

Cheney to Treasury: "Deficits don't matter"

Former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill was told "deficits don't matter" when he warned of a looming fiscal crisis.

O'Neill, fired in a shakeup of Bush's economic team in December 2002, raised objections to a new round of tax cuts and said the president balked at his more aggressive plan to combat corporate crime after a string of accounting scandals because of opposition from "the corporate crowd," a key constituency.

O'Neill said he tried to warn Vice President Dick Cheney that growing budget deficits-expected to top $500 billion this fiscal year alone-posed a threat to the economy. Cheney cut him off. "You know, Paul, Reagan proved deficits don't matter," he said, according to excerpts. Cheney continued: "We won the midterms (congressional elections). This is our due." A month later, Cheney told the Treasury secretary he was fired.

Any poll conducted by people who think 0bama0Care will not increase the deficit is run by people not to be taken seriously.

mnottertail -> RE: Fox News is detrimental to your intelligence (12/16/2010 8:53:57 AM)

and without any credible citations, anything you say can't be taken seriously.  (And it's not).

So you don't take the Congressional Budget Office seriously?

Congressional Budget Office - Health Care

CBO and the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) estimate that enacting both pieces of legislation will produce a net reduction in federal deficits of $143 billion over the 2010-2019 period.

And I am saying. Tell me why it matters? Cause, outside of a great way to control people. I don't think it does.

This plus wording and timing are everything. Eg. "Is the economy getting worse?" The correct answer was yes until it became clear that there was going to be a GOP landslide in November, and arguably is still yes.

"did the stimulus lose jobs?" Is that REALLY the way it was worded or was it "did the stimulus create jobs" and they reported a no answer to that as a yes answer to the rephrased question? The stimulus didnt do shit for job creation.

The health care reform law as it stands WILL increase the deficit.

Climate change? Any question can easily be interpreted as "Is MAN MADE climate change occurring?" and a no answer appropriate.

Stimulus tax cuts? Most people look at their own paychecks, and the $5 a week meaningless.

GM/Chrysler bailout? Since the Obama administration is taking credit for its "success" (even though Obama hated it in 2008) and since the bulk of the socialization of GM was under Obama, the "initiation" qualifier is very weak.

"most Republicans opposed TARP" At the outset of the debate most of the GOP did oppose TARP, and the most memorable moment of the process was Pelosi's speech that lost GOP support. If the question was worded "Did most Republicans vote against TARP when it passed" I doubt they would have gotten a yes answer.

"Obama was not born in the US or it is unclear Obviously worded to elicit a yes answer.

What is a "Fox viewer"? Someone who watches only Fox? Someone who watches Fox occasionally but its their only source? Someone who watches Fox but has other sources?

Which Fox viewers were surveyed? Fox has more liberal viewers than MSNBC.

How different were the opinions of viewers of other networks?

Typical anti-Fox nonsense.

SuzanneKneeling -> RE: Fox News is detrimental to your intelligence (12/16/2010 10:05:31 AM)

How anyone with an IQ above 60 can watch a network that donated a million dollars to a political party and think they're getting a straight picture of the world is just beyond me.  Can someone offer even a tortured, twisted rationalization for this belief?

I remember a study done back in about 2004 (2005?) that found Fox viewers were the most misled on questions about Iraq as well.

Fox viewers are the intellectual equivalent of heroin addicts.  They know they're putting distorted garbage into their heads, but they just can't stop because if feels sooo good.  All their dearly-held prejudices are being reinforced...

Al Gore bad, therefore the scientific consensus on global warming is all a hoax...   oh can you give me another hit of that please Mr. Murdoch?  That reality stuff is seeping in and it hurrrrts... need more drug... groannn...

Do you ever fucking read anything?

I gave the link to the entire survey in post #29.

It might be easier to look at the exact questions instead of drawing a conclusion from what you think it might have said.

Questionnaire with Findings, Methodology (PDF)

And here's the analysis of the survey, which I'm sure you won't read either.
