Anyone have any experience with the stuff? I tried some once and it works really good, but I am curious about the stuff I just ordered. The box says in bold letters FOR VETERINARY USE ONLY! Is it because of the latex or do they know what some freaks are doing with the stuff?

Cohesive bandages are mainly used in vetrinary situations because it only sticks to itself but is very secure, water resistant, and stays in place. A big bonus when working with subjects covered in fur.

I saw an awesome demo on this stuff a year ago or so. Not my scene, but a couple things the presenter mentioned were to make sure that the nose and mouth were clear to breath (this stuff is hard to breathe through) and either use it over (disposable) clothing or make sure the person isn't latex-sensitive. Also, make sure to have a set of EMT/bandage scissors available. This stuff had to be cut off of the model -- it won't unwind. Cutting it off also destroyed the t-shirt the model was wearing -- so make sure that what it is put over is completely disposable.

The presenter did a full-body mummification bondage demo (including the head) using cohesive tape in multiple colors -- attractive and entertaining.

I used them on horses a lot simply because if you needed to get a bandage on quickly and evenly, these things are better than the conventional ones. They wash out and can be re-usable. I think the patent was possibly done for veterinary use, as I have never seen them on the human medical market but they have proved great for bondage.

It probably costs less too? Vet wrap is expensive.

Just for you, OP, I went to the lengths of research of actually getting up off of My butt, and going to the other room to read a label.

What I have is a product called SyrVet (tm).  It also has the "for veterinary use only" label, but I've never used it in that capacity.  The stuff does work great.  Yes, it is latex product, so remember to ask anyone that you are going to wrap if they have any allergy for you to be concerned about. I got Mine from kinky medical and the price on it is pretty reasonable.  Mine is purple, but it comes in a variety of colors and you can buy rolls that vary in size and length.  Last time I used it was back in October.  I'm not much of a mummification person, but if you have an specific questions, I'll try to help out.

I think it's also the stuff wrapped on casts now to give it all those pretty colors.

You also want to be careful wrapping it on someone....it's like an ace bandage, it stretches, and it's very easy to wrap it too tight.

I'm not fond of duct tape used on my face, so I've had the tape used instead.  It doesn't rip out my hair or remove sensitive skin from the lips!

Yes, this is used in kinky situations for this exact reason. It applys fast, only sticks to itself, and comes off relatively easy. Anyone who has hair and has had duct tape used on them can attest to the troubles of taking that off (although that process in itself can be a form of kink). Its original purpose was for vetrinary use, but as humans also have hair, it has come in to use in the medical community. This stuff is still going to be rather expensive to use regularly in kink because to use it as a binding you need quantity. But for its intended use, you only need a small amount. I've only seen 5 yard rolls, so you can imagine how many you need to mummify someone once, let alone several times. Still, its a nice addition to anyone's toybag as it looks great aesthetically and also has a great sensory feel to it

Vet wrap. Incredibly useful on the horse, but I've never figured out how to reuse it. Not that expensive if bought at a farm store.
However we've tried it and I dislike it on me. It grabs small hairs and pulls them, and I itch afterwards which isn't a latex allergy since this doesn't happen from latex gloves.

I have been mummified with it for long sessions. As long as 18 hours. The only side effect I have gotten is itchy skin. But I think this is more due to the sweat that occurs and the salt left on the skin from sweating.

I know others have mentioned this but you do need to check if you or whoever is being wrapped is allegeric to latex. Otherwise have fun. Try it and post on here the results!

Thanks for the replies everyone!

LadyPact-  It is funny becuase that is the same brand that I have! I bought 2 boxes of 18 rolls and my Mistress plans to wrap me head to toe for at least 4 hours.

I tried the stuff out on my arm and left it on for a couple hours to see if there was any reaction there was none but, it was just really itchy. lol

I'll absolutely vouch for the product.  I've never had an issue with it.  Unless I'm mistaken, it's the brand that I've always used.  It's fun stuff, easy to work with, and darn convenient.  Have fun!

The difference in veterinary cohesive bandage and medical cohesive bandage is a difference in price and guarantee of sterility and being free of allergens... in practice, medical cohesive bandage is just more expensive.

If you order by the case via eBay, you can get it for less than fifty cents a roll. And the veterinary stuff comes in multiple colors. Much better than ace bandage for wrapping the pony's ankles to prevent hoof injury during a race. If you ever have an actual use for cohesive bandage for what it originated for.

I much prefer pallet wrap for mummification. It doesn't itch. You do sweat but now that it's been below freezing for two weeks, this would be a good thing.

I too prefer the pallet wrap/stretch wrap. Have you found you can sense another person's body heat when you have been wrapped up for a couple of hours? Especially in a cool room. I have found I can sense body head from anyone within about 3 to 4 feet of me. A very unique but cool sensation!

The human version is called coban, and comes only in light tan.
It does however, comes in different widths, which might be useful.
