You're not the first person to notice this, OP. I think there's been a thread or two on the subject before. It doesn't come up often, but I have every reason to believe you're not the only one who has noticed. I don't know where it comes from or what it might mean to them. At the same time, I would have to say that My impression of it would be a lack of maturity. Which, I'm sure, My opinion wouldn't mean much to those who choose that particular shot. I'm not exactly their target audience. I'd be in firm agreement with some of the other responders here. Good screening tool. If a photo on a person's profile strikes Me as a first impression of someone that I wouldn't want to talk to, I take a proactive stance of blocking the person and hiding the profile so I don't see it again. Yes, they might be a really nice person and all of that but I don't have much interest in those who make such a bad first impression.
