ORIGINAL: FirmhandKY I think the problem is that he is somewhat vacuous. He was a "liberal" because that was the "feel good" thing to be, and it seemed to work for him in the rest of his life. But I don't think he actually believed in much of anything, or at least never had to face the hard challenges and reality of standing alone in front of people who truly and spiritedly did not agree with him, or his stated principles. I don't think he was every really "tested" in his beliefs, and therefore has been unable, or unwilling to fight for a vision that encompasses the core principles in which he putatively ascribes, but which he really never felt in his heart. No "test of fire" or "test of faith" in other words. This is more truth than people realize. On the next go-round, we'd best get back to another puppet like we had just prior. Someone who never got to the level of maturity to believe in anything, and never did stand in front of anybody but those who told him what his beliefs were and spiritedly instructed him on how they were to be carried out. Someone who never had any core principles to begin with, whom the lame corporate media would never think of questioning at all, much less "testing," being as they have no core principles outside of advertising profit and serving the primary business themselves. Let's put back into office someone who has no fire or faith to be tested. Someone who is vacuous, but has the proper letter following his name. Perhaps you are correct. It's just my opinion of him as a man, not as a statement of whether or not his beliefs and core principles are "right" or "correct" in any shape, form, or fashion. If you'll read some of my earlier comments in the forums, you'll learn that I wasn't a particular fan of either John McCain, or of GW Bush. I'm talking about a person's personality, not their political beliefs. Firm
