Hello Everyone.

I'm a first time poster, long time reader and I've a question that's been essentially driving me mad since Sunday that I hope someome can answer, as well my sharing this may help others in the future?
I have a Youtube account and met a Domme there, subsequent to corresponding with her via youtube e-mail for a few weeks things turned sour once I refused to tribute her.
After being called a fake as well other nasty names on my comment page that I will not repeat, I blocked her.

This was last Saturday night, when i shut down my pc a message appeared saying something to thee affect "cannot execute program" then my computer shut down as normal.
I thought that something was amiss however really did not think very much of it after that, well, the very next day when I booted my pc up I got this blue screen on my desk-top with "WARNING YOUR COMPUTER IS IN DANGER" etc.

I could not get ride of the blue screen nor access my antivirus for it was removed and replaced with a bogus program which would automaticlly run every two minutes and my computer was essentially useless.
Not sure what this/these things were but they were nasty, subsequent to having my computer cleaned which had over 400 worms, I've received two additional very creepy
comments on my page from users I've never met, essentially mocking me.

These comments are pending my approval for I'm literally afraid to even touch them, I know she is responsible for this but how did she do it?
She never had my personal e-mail nor any out-side information about me, has anyone ever heard of receiving a virus via of blocking someone on youtube or {COLLARME}

~Fabian

To be honest, I would be surprised if she could do this to you, you know somebody who's very very good at hacking would need to ask for tribute, she would be so much in demand by companies like McAfee and Norton...

My guess is that somehow you were browsing and you downloaded a virus when you thought you downloaded something else... The timing might just be coincidence.

Yes I've thought about that, but I tell you, my pc was so screwed and the way she did this was so slick I'm literally afraid to report her to due repercussions, I'm not sure what this nut is capale of?

If she did this (and it is more than possible it is a coincidence), likely you simply opened a sent link.
However, just because she got pissed at you and called you nasty names does not mean she hacked you.

Paraniod much?

You accusing some random internet chick of hacking you is laughable!

So she sent you some nasty, not so nice messages according to you that is along way away from breaking federal and state laws and hacking you. Can it be done? Yes, but are you worthy of such a risk and would a hacker capaable of such a thing make it so damn obvious to you or the authorities that they were responsible? Um... no. You probably downloaded malware or adaware that was started when you rebooted your system, IF it happens again start your system in safe mode then start your adaware/malware/virus program. Simple really.

Yes I was surprised as well which is why I'm at such a lost and confused, however this is simply to much of a coincidence to be anyone other than her, my pc was fine till after I blocked her.
And I will admit that I'm not the most careful web surfer in the world going placing I know I should not venture, and sure from time to time I would get a few bugs here and there, but nothing as this which all but totally disabled my pc as previously conveyed.
And as stated in my initial post, I've subsequently received two creepy comments since then mocking me, comments that reference what only she would have knowledge of and which we spoke about, these are blank profiles which appear recently created.

Get yourself to cnet.com and download some good (and free) virus protection, then use it.
Think of it as a condom for your PC.

Well so she might have created profiles recently, but you some things just can't be done, simply not possible unless you are a magician.

Chances are you got your computer infected and it was really coincidence, you had a few bugs in the past, which really should have told you to have an anti-virus program. You know to me this sounds more like you downloaded porn from the internet for free, which is the best way to pick up all sorts of things, they don't always act straight away.

A couple of years ago I got something like you described, I was sure I hadn't downloaded anything - yeah right, some of them just disable the "Do not download function" - you click on it and you still get it.

Also paying 400 for a clean-up - sounds like they were taking you for a ride there. I mean you should have gotten a list with the specifications in your bill, like which worms were removed. I would research them on the net.

Another thing is, why did you actually engage with her? I would assume she made the tributing clear fairly soon, if that's not your cup of tea, just move on. The only way she could have put something on your computer would be to get you to accept files from her or get you to download something.

You know computers aren't those magical things, you can't get a virus because somebody wants to give you one, you have to download one, browse an infected website, etc.

I suggest you read this site: http://www.howstuffworks.com/virus.htm

You don't really believe that she did this to you, do you?  Personally, I agree with Lady C.  It sounds more like you did this to you, either by hitting the free porn out there or entering some other site that wasn't safe for your PC.

Everyone is giving you good advice, OP.

Please, I downloaded AVG on some IT guys advice and immediately got a virus from downloading it. You never know where a virus comes from and I would not get too paranoid about this woman from youTube.

slavefabian, welcome out of lurk mode.  I'm glad you brought this up because I've enjoyed reading the advice you were given about your computer...and I wrote down that howstuffworks site recommended by LadyC and plan to go there when I am not so tired as I am now.

For the next thing...take some deep breaths.  You took care of the problem with your computer.  Maybe you will change the antivirus you are using to one that works better, but for now that doesn't matter.  There is nothing else that has to be done right now...except...

You are giving her power over you by letting her seem like some all powerful genie.  Stop giving away your power.  If she is going all high school on you...yes, it's embarrassing, but keep blocking her and ignoring her and eventually she might feel petty or stupid and stop.  Baiting is only fun if one is rewarded with a reaction...and btw, I don't know anything about how YouTube works, so why not find out from their Support if you can have her comments removed so the public humiliation stops?

Something like this would have scared the heck out of me and made me paranoid until I calmed down.

Oh, my god. Come on.

If she actually reacted like that, then you are lucky that you said no while it was time.
You don't really know for sure if she sent those viruses, but maybe she created some fake profiles in order to mock you. Block them and she'll get tired eventually. Do not read them.
When someone gets this rude, there's no other option but to ignore them. Do not talk to her again, she is too immature for this. Keep her blocked, block at the first opportunity anyone who bugs you, and don't give it more importance.
Okay so the virus could be a coincidence. It looks too good to be made by some random woman. Yes, she could have been a hacker, or paid one, but if you don't open unknown links and have no other contact with her, she won't have access to your computer for a second time. Get it checked and formatted if necessary, then go on with your life.
If you ignore her, she'll get tired and will leave you alone.

People are just crazy.

While I agree this woman was most likley not responsible as there was no exchange of any real user data. The above is pretty false. The pre packaging of exploits into user friend "so simply my pet dog can do it" applications is a big industry. That is the reason there's a phrase coined just for it, script kiddy. All they need to do is have some basic info or access and run any number of tools against it and viola, insta pwn, especially vs someone who has a relatively unprotected system.

Real discovery of exploits and vulnerabilities is hard work, but it is damnably easy to find ways to press a few clicks of your mouse and let something else do it for you.

As for the OP? It sounds like you got hit with a drive by. You visited a site or opened an e-mail that installed some bogus application that hosed your PC. The other advice in here is pretty solid, just clean it up and move on, making sure to protect yourself better in the future.

Hello Lady Constance.

"You know computers aren't those magical things, you can't get a virus because somebody wants to give you one, you have to download one, browse an infected website, etc"

Please tell me, is this so truly impossible for someone to simply place a virus in a link which would activate after being clicked?
I have no inclination what-so-ever how it would be done, especially on a Youtube comment page, however I'm sure it can be done please correct me if I'm wrong.

"Also paying 400 for a clean-up - sounds like they were taking you for a ride there. I mean you should have gotten a list with the specifications in your bill, like which worms were removed. I would research them on the net."

I payed $50.00 to have my pc cleaned which I considered to be a very fair price at the moment, and the 400 worms which the tech referenced was done subsequent to cleaning my computer, I.E. it's not as if he ran a phony scan prior too then said 'oh my God you've got over 400 worms in your system which will cost you X amount of dollars to clean.

"Another thing is, why did you actually engage with her? I would assume she made the tributing clear fairly soon, if that's not your cup of tea"

No she did not Lady Constance, and I only had contact with her for about two weeks then just a few days prior to 12-25-10 she made the suggestion I purchase a Christmas gift for her.

"You know computers aren't those magical things, you can't get a virus because somebody wants to give you one, you have to download one, browse an infected website, etc"

No I do not believe in magic and once more timing is simply to bizzare not to have been her, and when I received the additional comments {in French} the subsequent day, with the mimic, spoofing, degrading posts is when I believed it to be her, one only read "ROTFLMAO"

You see that's the thing of it all and my whole point, my computer was fine all day long and I really did go vist any new sites that day I had not in the past, and I never received anything before from them, also I turned my pc off and on many times during that day.

However, subsequent to having a nasty heated 15 minute online altercation, then shutting my computer down 2 minutes later, I receive the microsoft message telling me something is amiss as it shuts down.

Fabian,

This is paranoid, check with their customer service if it would be technically possible, because unless you clicked on a link of hers, downloaded something of hers, I honestly can't see any way how this could be done.

I'm not the most technically savvy person on the planet, I am computer literate and I know what to do and especially what not to do, and I know a bit what technically is possible (which doesn't mean I can do it), my other half works in IT, I told him about it and he said it might be a super hacker but anybody who could hack on that level would most likely working for a government agency or a very big company and earning indecent amounts of money. I can't see a person like that risking a job and actually needing to solicit anybody for xmas gifts. It doesn't add up.
