ORIGINAL: flcouple2009 Sorry my dear, my sources are excellent. Apparently not, but hey, what would I know? Only first hand experience, not "sources"... How about you check with official sources? http://www.berlin.de/polizei/service/waffen.html Most Germans speak excellent English, you must not be afraid to give them a call... You know if it would be all so easy, most cab drivers (who happen to be statistically the ones who get robbed most often) would have one, yet they can't get one.... quote:
Sorry to disappoint but this is not the wild west many Europeans believe. Well dahhhling, this European has lived and worked for quite a while in the US, and as you said in "many" states, many doesn't equal ALL, does it? Nobody in NYC had a gun, while in LA it seemed far more common. You can also go to another state, live in a motel or a rented room for a while and then legally purchase a gun, of course it will be illegal to bring it back into one of the states with stricter laws, but if you're planning to use a gun for criminal purposes, you think that's going to stop somebody? Since it's all so regulated, one does wonder a bit how much more gun related crimes there are in the US.... Funny that... As for you and your "excellent sources" believing you could easily go to Germany and have a gun in your home, that's fine, just don't let me wake up from your dreams. Here's a little tidbid for you, maybe you want to discuss it with your sources... Anybody who is a sport schuetze and takes the weapon home has to have a strongbox for storage, and the weight can't be less than 200 Kilograms... How do I know this little tidbid? Father of a guy I dated in Germany happened to be the Polizeioberrat in a little town you might have heard of, Munich...
