TD,

Well in truth and my viewpoint, things were much better on this path we walk dcades ago than now wherein so much is based on whimsical demands.

But if so many people prefere the past..why does it change?
( rethorical..I gueess)

Perhaps it was not better..but we respect it more now we can look back and learned to accept things for what they were?

Retrospection is always 20 20 vision
As a woman, with eyes wide open, I most certainly would not want tpo go back.
Or with my eyes wide shut.

it seems that classic is replaced in many description with "romantic"
I guess classic is meant as "what is perfect" ?

TD,

Perfection is so elusive that I know of no one that has been there...........that being said perhaps perdictable might do!

CR,

Superb list.

So glad you included "geek with nice glasses" as I don't make the 'tall' category in many cases..

I just saw this. Yes, I have a certain "thing" for glasses--on men or women. They make peoples' faces look very cute, IMO. :D

TD,

Well for openers, it changes with the whims of new folks coming into the path a not enough old timers still around to influence the direction.

The Classic Dominant to me is similiar to a classic book. Worn through time, but still appreciated by some. Not everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn't concern him. Some might not recognize them for their own brilliance, yet that does not bother them. They will stand to right a wrong, but not get their nose out of joint because someone doesn't see things the way they do. They tend to walk to their own drummer, without the need of peer approval. They can and often do stand beside the best of them- the classics:)

I'd say a Dom with really big fins, a two-tone paint job, and extremely wide whitewalls would definitely be a classic.

A pretty accurate analysis of the vanishing breed.....clearly you have been fortunate in the past....smiles, or present.

Despite these being modern times, there are many people I see today who have what I call "classic beauty." Everybody's image of this phrase differs (mine is old world, it's someone who looks like a beautiful greek marble bust in profile), but there's a general understanding of that concept in this culture: a set of features that never loses its appeal, despite what the popular or fashionable look is at any given time. So I think that, just like there is classic beauty, there could be a personality that could be called The Classic Dominant. I don't think that sort of thing has anything to do with tools or lack of tools, like the internet, except this: I think a classic dominant, whatever age he was born in, would use the tools at his disposal to get what he wants.
