When they took it up is up to congress. The military and especially "MILITARY OFFICERS" have no political voice until after leaving the military. Basic UCMJ

It's a terrible thing it needs a whole culture change. I think this is the reality of legislation such as the repealing of don't ask don't tell not having much impact on current attitudes within the armed forces. Unless you start making examples of people by getting rid of them the culture will not change. Anti discrimination legislation can only go so far.

I wonder how we might measure the morale on his ship. Wonder what his retention rate is? Do you care? Do you know anything about submarine duty? Nuclear submarine duty? I know his OERs are essentially perfect, and he is an alumnus of the Naval Academy. Unless his crew has an unusually high number of people wanting transfers, a high incidence of disciplinary problems, etc, he should be left to run his ship as he pleases.

OK. Where's that post that was made recently when somebody was asking Me why I think there are some folks in the military who have anti gay sentiments? People who think these kinds of things don't exist need to open their eyes.

That somebody was me and I never said that anti-gay sentiment doesn't exist, either in the military or in the country as a whole. What I pointed out was the Pentagon survey found a vast majority of military personnel did not have a problem serving alongside gays. Which directly contradicted those on that thread who suggested the repeal of DADT would create major problems within the military. To suggest this is evidence of those problems goes way beyond trying to stretch a point.

being a navy spouse i saw these kinds of vids constantly especially when the guys were on med cruise. i thought they were funny and the sailors loved them. kept up morale and from going stir crazy. i thinks overblown.
