Do you think he has a better case than the people suing McDonalds?

No I don't. I want to know how could he consume 20,000 calories a day? He must not have worked.

I feel that both lawsuits were wrong, but for different reasons.

The McDonald's case - What could have been good about this is pointing out that coffee doesn't have to be nearly boiling to be served. The ridiculous part is even if there were permanent scars, an $8 million dollar award was excessive.

The guy in the UK probably had people buying and serving him that food. Is it the government's responsibility to keep that many calories from going in a citizen's body? Maybe he should have been given bariatric surgery before he got to 1000 pounds, but the math of calories wasn't the main problem this guy had. It was the obsession with food that got him that fat.

We do pay for the effects of obesity from the people on Medicare/Medicaid who have complications from obesity (diabetes, heart disease, etc.).
