My master and I don't really have enough money to invest in expensive bdsm gear. What are some useful everyday things we could use? And where could we get them? I need ideas for whips, gags, anything really.
I'm looking for clamps ecspecially.
Thank you! All ideas are appreciated!

Wooden clothes pegs are great for clamps, the plastic ones often tend to break, for gags you can use scarves or torn stockings, whips - how about experimenting with different belts?

Check your local DIY store, plenty of stuff there, but if you're going for real whips, go to an Equestrian store and don't buy "novelty toys"

You don't need expensive gear to play, just be creative, a carpet beater or a wooden spoon or spatula can be great.

This subject comes up quite often. Try using the search function in the forums to find past ideas. Here is a link to one of them.

http://www.collarchat.com/m_3306342/mpage_1/key_BDSM%252Cbudget/tm.htm#3322807

You can also Google BDSM on a Budget for some good ideas also.

Old neckties are great. I found some awesome clippy things (like for opened potato chips bags) at the dollar store this year, clothespins make good clamps too. Wooden spoons work wonders. A simple belt can provide hours of play. Look around your house. It's amazing the things that can be turned to evil purpose.
My favorite stores are Hobby Lobby, Lowe's and the Dollar Tree. Pick everything up. If you can swing it, tie it, or pinch with it, you have a winner!

While I love perverting seemingly normal stuff (yes, I think the DIY stores are the equivalent of BDSM paradise) I'd be careful with some of the "normal stuff", when it comes to clothes pegs, rather go for the paper clips as I found clothes pegs can be seriously dangerous, not just plastic ones but also wooden ones, they're meant to hold clothes on the line and if they break nothing happens, a towel might fall down, if you use them as a clamp and they break, you got metal or wooden bits shooting around and in addition a bit of metal... Dangerous for both, paper clips seem to be a bit more solid, plus you can put felt on the ends or if you progress to harsher play a bit of sand paper. Fine sandpaper on the nipples is fun (don't overdo it though) and then a bit of rubbing alcohol, it's a lasting pleasure....

As fond as I am of my toys, when it comes down to it, you don't need much, scarves, ties, stockings, almost anything can be used... A dish cloth can be a nice flogger, especially if you tie a knot at the end of one and then wet it a bit... Ice cubes, candles...

I used neck-ties long before I had any rope.

I used my belt long before I had a crop.

I used clothespins long before I had any clamps

I used a ruler long before I had a cane.

Two pencils and two rubber bands can be put to some extraordinarily entertaining uses.

GL,
Mention wrapping someone up in a carpet. Here is a variation on that. Get 2 to 3 rolls of generic saran wrap/plastic wrap at the grocery store. Get the big rolls......the rolls should be about 200 yards in length. Wrap you victim up in saran wrap. You can wrap the legs, arms and torso seperately first. Use multiple layers. Then wrap everything together. Again do multiple layers. Now cut holes in the wrap if you want to play. Or not if you just want a pillow or foot stool for the evening :)

You can also go to an office supply store or hardware store and get rolls of stretch wrap/Pallet wrap. Its much stretchier and come in bigger rolls.

And if you are feeling a little devious. You can use Duct tape over the top of the wrap for a more restrictive feeling. Its takes 2 to 3 rolls (60 yards long) of 2" wide duct tape to wrap someone.

Not that I like that sort of thing at all. Just and idea. Enjoy :)

The best stuff is the wrap they use industrial, with a bit of luck you get it in colours and not just clear and can create "dresses" or clothes, with a hair dryer you can shrink it even more, if you want a bit of fun, apply deep heat under it (but be careful as the sweat carries it to sensitive places and some people react badly when it comes in contact with mucus membrane) and then play with wax and ice cubes... Due to the sweating they will be twice as sensitive... You can always sell it to them as a procedure they would pay lots of money for at a beautician but it's so much more fun doing it a kinky way.

I'm not a pervert, honest, I just have a very fertile fantasy...

Oh and mind the temperature of the shower when they get out and have a shower...

People have already given you ideas but basically - look around the house. There's stuff everywhere. Clothesline. Your belt. The spatula. A rolled up newspaper. Open up the utentsil drawer in the kitchen. Look in the linen closet. Grab an old extension cord. Use a twist tie. A ping pong paddle.

Some other things:

Sit down together and page through (or scroll through) the BDSM catalog and pick something out together that you'll save up for. Talk a lot about what you'll do with it once you get it. The anticipation alone can make things amazingly hot.

Surprise alone can also work wonders. Invest in or create a blindfold. Wonders can be worked with ice, candlewax, whatever. Suggestion can lead to all sorts of things. I once told a tied down and blindfolded sub we were going to experiment with knifeplay and pulled out a tablespoon I'd left in the freezer for an hour.

2 8 foot 4x4's from lowes, 2 lag bolts, 2 eye bolts and a borrowed circular saw can be used to make an AWESOME St' Andrews cross.

Total cost under $30

It will last for decades.

If any of the clamps you settle on are too ouchie, just clamp them onto as big a book as they can bite for a few days.  It will loosen them up.

Find a store that sells things for a dollar, like the Dollar Tree.  That is one of my favorite stores...I have found collars, choke chains, and a lovely heavy chain leash (too bad I only bought one).  There were cat toys...clear lucite rod with string and some fish toy attached...the rod made a lovely toy once I stripped it down.

Several years ago, I found bags of two paddles and a ping pong ball.  Wooden paddles...I sanded until it was smooth and the edges were rounded, and then painted it with a little jar of shiny black paint (Walmart, enamel paint for model kits are sold separately).  The paddle is LOUD and lovely.  <grins>

I also found wooden jump rope handles and used these to make ribbon, rubber, and leather floggers.  I had to add on to the handles to make the balance good.  With some handles, I have used wooden dowels that I cut down.  If you want me to go into more detail, just write to me and I will walk you through it.  I turned satin rope into floggers as well...and unraveled others for a different feel.  For sensation play, I made ones that feel like bunny fur...by sewing tubes of fake fur.

For rubber ones, I have split bicycle innertubing into strips, cutting the ends into viper tips.  Yeah, ouch dammit, lol.  With others, I bought bungee cords at the Dollar Tree, split those open, and stuffed them into the metal slot on the jump rope handles.

Sometimes I am lazy about handles and just wind black electrical tape around them.  Some are decorated with black velvet...and even ribbons and bead roses.

Have you seen that inch wide, black leather trim with the metal holes...that kids were using to make chokers with a few years ago?  I made some floggers from it, lol.  Leaves lovely pink circles...

If you can sew, I can talk you through making sturdy, comfy restraints.  I go to a fabric store for some things, like heavy vinyl (found some several years back in a lovely faux snake print, and others in a rainbow of colors), and fuzzy blanket material that you see everywhere nowadays.  I line my cuffs with them so no marks are left behind.  I prefer leather, but with newbies and people with diabetes or something, I prefer these with industrial strength velcro for fast removal...just in case.

I had to hand stitch the velcro in place because one side was very sticky and would mess up my sewing machine.  I used a needle nosed pliers to pull the needle through.  Now I have seen some industrial strength velcro without that nasty sticky stuff.  (Silly people were doing this to encourage people to use it to hold things to walls...)

Cheap clothesline under the bed to give the restraints something to be anchored to.  Think...spreadeagled.

Paint stirrers.  I have two sizes, one smaller that I got for free, and a larger size I believe I had to pay a dollar for at some place like Lowe's.  Yep, I like to wrap it with black electrical tape (Dollar Tree item, lol) so I don't have to worry about splinters, sanding, and painting.  I like the look.

Feathers for tickle torture...Dollar Tree, and in a rainbow of primary colors.  Small feather boas to drag over the skin when it is extra sensitive from being pink...these are sold in the kiddie section of the Dollar Tree.

Soon, neither of you will be able to walk into a store without looking at things...and thinking about what ELSE you could do with them, lol.

Best wishes to the both of you.

or replacement rods for window blinds, I think are relatively inexpensive.

long shoelaces can be braided together to make a jury rigged flogger (I mean LONG..like the ones meant for 'up to the knee' length)

be careful of what kind of candles you might use for waxplay.. some retain higher temps longer than others (I like the .99 cent relgious icon type candles found in most grocery stores).

a bit labor intensive:  plastic hanger.. cut a few notches (not too deep) in at one end.. get some heavy material (if you dont have anything you can scrap for leather bits, use heavy denim bits.. nylon fishing line.. first  stitch the leather/denim/fabric arond the notched end, then use the fishing line to secure it..   ya got yerself a homemade crop.

Here's an idea for a project. Do you have a Dollar Tree nearby? At Dollar Tree, they have this "Massager" that consists of a plastic barrel covered by a rubber sheath that has nubs on it. The barrel is attached to a handle, so that you hold the handle and roll the sheath covered barrel over your skin. Take this and detach the handle from it, slip off the sheath, and insert thumb tacks (NOT push pins, which have the grip...the ones you want are the ones with the flat part you push with your thumb to rest flush with the surface) into every other nub, alternating them on each row, like a checkerboard. Put the sheath back on the barrel, then reattach the barrel to the handle. This can be a bit tricky, but i found that if you use a little water, the sheath will slip back on no problem.

Be sure the very tip of the thumb tacks are sticking out of the nubs. This makes a really nice sensory toy and all you'll spend on it is maybe a couple dollars, depending on the price of the thumb tacks *smiles*

An easy spreader bar can be made by going down to your hardware store and purchasing a dowel. You'll need a thick dowel, at least 1 inch, if not larger. Also pick up some eye hooks. You'll screw the eye hooks into each end of the dowel, making sure they face exactly the same way. Be certain your eye hooks have a large enough eye to fit a caribiner through. Attach the bar to your ankle cuffs using the caribiner. If you don't have cuffs, use rope threaded through the eye hook and then wrapped round the ankle a few times, then secured with a simple knot.

You can use rope to make a flogger. Choose a fine rope, one that isn't very scratchy, because even if you're looking for something that hurts, the softer ones CAN hurt. Get an O-Ring or a D-Ring, whichever you prefer, cut lengths that are twice as long as the length of falls you prefer, plus 8 inches extra to make a 4 inch grip (so, if you prefer 8 inch falls, cut the rope in 24 inch lengths...6 inch falls, 20 inch lengths, etc) and run it through the center of the ring. You'll need several lengths of rope for this - gauge it for yourself based on how thick you'd like it. Double it up over the ring, with the ends matching. Now is when you need to decide how to make the grip. This is done by wrapping the 4 inches closest to the ring somehow. You can wrap it with duct tape, electrical tape, or with an additional length of rope. Do it however it suits you. To customize your flogger, you can unravel the rope to make it really soft, or you can knot some or all of the falls. Or you can unravel each fall AND knot as well. It's up to you.

Hope these suggestions help.

Whatever happened to an old fashioned book balanced on the head?
It used to be called etiquette training.
