One of the only two ways I can sleep at night is to fall asleep on the couch to a dvd, THEN get up and go into the bedroom. I do this on those nights that reading doesn't do it for me. And I only have certain movies that can be on, I may not actually WATCH them, but I have to be able to hear them......sometimes, the movie actually gets incorporated into my dreams. I show up at least 30 minutes early for work. Even if I can't START, I'm there. If I'm 15 minutes "late", it throws off my whole rhythm. I have to have time to get my soda ready, to listen to see what's been going on, and just generally get myself in the mood. I hate feeling rushed! This one seems to annoy my friends.....I will give you the shirt off my back, but refuse to ask for one when I need one......figuratively, of course, but you get my point. Case in point, my boss got on me because when I had appendicitis, I actually called a cab to go to the ER....not an ambulance, (didn't need it!), or her, (it was 3:30 am!), or for an officer from the department to take me. I lived very close to the actual capital areas we worked. But I've taken co-workers and friends home when they actually live miles out of my way, or even in the opposite direction from the one I go. Just things like that.
