Well RF, really I might have to give tht some thought. Now one of the main features opf this lathe is the four foot bed. That means it can turn a hell of a big piece. Of course almost all lathes have a tubular driveshft whivch allows them to turn things of any length, but only up to a cetrtain diameter.

Maybe instead of playing it up as a selling point, touting what it can do, maybe I should just do it. Fuck it. Money is money. Then the thing is not just taking up space. Up till now I thought of it like a set of oxy-acetylene torches. You only need one set per family, because you use it once and then it sits there for ten years until your brother in law shows up and borrows it, and he doesn't return it for eight years and you don't really care until you need it, and then he brings it back and it is out of oxygen. At least that's how it worked with everyone I know.

But if one were a welder ....... Well same thing. I do know how to run the thing, not saying I am an expert but I can certainly do it. Bicycles eh ?

The wheels are turning. People spend obscene amount of money on them, .......

T^T

No, motorcycles.

Modern road (motor)bikes use flip-up designs, but many race and track bikes use solid or semi-solid knurled, turned pegs, mounted higher and further back, to increase ground clearance when at extreme lean angles.

Google "rearsets". If you want to see the ultimate in that line, goggle "Gilles rearsets". I use Gilles, but they're beyond the wallet of most riders, and race teams crash often enough that buying expensive pegs (and clip-on handlebars) isn't an option for all but the most well-sponsored.
