Ok...there's a strange question. What kind of collar do you prefer?

Leather? Titanium?

How may D-rings if any?

What kinds of locks? Do you use locks?

Do you use informal collars to wear every day? (necklaces, anklets, etc)

Just curious.

I am getting the feeling... this is a test... with all your new post.... and i'm about to flunk... LOL

As for collars.... I don't wear them... for no one in my cicle of nilla friends (but 1) and family know about my life.. so I don't advertise...

The only collar I have right now is a leather one I bought for myself a long time ago (before I even sampled the lifestyle). Part of my long-standing leather fetish ...

However - it is not suitable for me to wear to work - and my MissTress and I have talked about getting something more like jewellery for me to wear to work (once I am collared). I would like some kind of lock (I don't know if that will be possible while maintaining some kind of professional image) so I am interested to see what we find.

Do some folks have multiple collars to wear depending on what situation they are in (e.g. a different one to wear over the weekend versus during work hours) ? I'd be interested to hear other's experiences ....

Ideally heavy durt leather covered with chainmail untill I get the technique of making a hinged collar using half round profiled stainless and a stainless hex screw to lock it on.... One ring center front and the name of slave and owner engraved on the side...

I wear one collar 24/7, always. It is titanium and gold. No locks, no D rings. It has never come off.

I have another dog collar with one ring - I sometimes wear to bed, I wear in Master's presence when told to. I wear it when not in his presence when told to, too (and sometimes just on my own). I have been known, on occasion, to forget to remove it and wear it to the grocery store...and once to work accidentally.

i wore my first collar until it literaly fell apart around my neck. i wore it to school, work in the shower, to my parents. i wore it everyday and everynight for more then 9 years so people just got used to it and stopped asking questions.

When i was collared, W/we had a simple black leather collar with 1 d-ring which was worn at home. W/we attatched a pad lock to the back of it. i, of course, had a copy of the key just in case.

And for every day... i had a lace choker.

my last collar was an antique celtic torc ,simple and reasonably stylish so only W/we two knew exactly what it was for.
has never gone in for public displays of my private habits... my work/lifestyle will not allow that

I can relate to this ... I wear my collar all the time usually when not at work. A kid in Wal Mart asked me why I was wearing a dog collar one day. I just replied "it's mine and I like it". I was surprised the kid's mom didn't even raise an eyebrow ...

Just not sure a dog collar would go down too well at work ..

As for my "vanilla" friends ... well, one of my "friends" who knows about my involvement in the lifestyle has told me categorically that she hates my collar (along with all my friends in the lifestyle that she has never even met). It actually makes me laugh. None of my vanilla friends are as happy in their relationships as I am in mine!

Just some advice... in the future... consider getting something abiguious to wear for every day stuff. Something that no one would know was a collar accept for you and yours. Some wear rings, others weark ankets, bracelets, simple necklaces.

i know a girl who when she married her Master... He got her a diamond necklace. ~smiles~

Just some adivice.

I like a wide heavy leather collar like the one I wear when I play, it has three large D rings and is locked on. I am not collared but in play I am no one elses but His. I do like how the solid metal ones look, I'm not sure how functional they would be but they do look nice.

I wear a small silver linked bracelet and a thin leather strand on my left wrist as a reminder for myself of my place. It probably sounds funny but I find if I'm having a really bad and/or stressful day, a look down or a touch of it helps me find a bit of focus.

The one I have is custom made my Phoenix's best friend. It is a chainmall style. It has 4 rows of silver links (all hand made) and 2 clasps. When you undo both clasps the collar can /does form 2 bracelets.

I love it because it is perfect for every day use and works well either dressed up or down.

Though I would love to have one that was simply a steel band. The one I have now can't be yanked on during play or we are to chicken to try. *laughs*

It really depends on if we are doing a specific scene in which a collar would be a hindrance. When Himself decides were going in to high protocol for whatever period of time he determines, it's the heavy leather with the three D rings and ankle and wrist cuffs for the duration. If we are going to a play event or party, something lighter with the single D is usual for me. If we are doing something in the water, then I don't normally have a physical collar on at all.

My very favorite collar is the one which is invisible and wrapped 24/7 around my power. ;)

Twicehappy wears a solid steel ring that attaches with a set screw and she wears it all the time. The only comments we have ever heard was "I like that!" or "nice necklace".

I wear a white gold necklace with three diamonds as my everyday collar.......I have a formal collar for when Sir and I go out, it is stainless steel lined with leather and has a lion's head holding one ring, locks in the back.........

For play, I wear one made out of an old leather belt that belonged to my Master. It has one D ring in the center. It's old, worn, and sentimental and I love it!

My everyday collar is a silver choker that has two amethysts dangling down from it. It's very pretty and will be used for the next year.

Once were together for a year I will get a permanent collar for everyday. Right now, I'm looking at ones that are a mix of gold and titanium.

i have a collar (the one in the pic) that i wear around the house, out to parties, and whenever he decides to have me wear it....i have a silver bracelet that i wear all the time...
