You're kidding, right? Even an infant can tell who loves them. The fact you have to ask leads me to think he doesn't...but listen to your own instincts.

I don't *know* if M loves me. I *know* he cares for me in a significant way.

Basically you seem to be asking whether he's with you ONLY because of the newish great sexual bdsm avenue that's opened up.....DESPITE wanting you before that.

So, what's he doing now, that has changed the fact that you were happy to get engaged before, but now wonder if he cares in the same way?

You KNOW when he/she does.

If he doesn't love you in that way now, it doesn't mean it can't develop in time.
